Very nice ,my grandson age 5 got the same set for his Xmas but just came with the standard layout and would love to extend it ,where is the best place to buy extra track and cost to do some thing like yours ?
Lego track is just expensive - the best you can do is to shop around. Failing that, Facebook marketplace or eBay. Edited by woodysnr on Monday 30th December 22:39
My son got loads of extra track last Christmas - not cheap, but my mum likes to spoil him...

I think you can get Lepin gauge track which is the same.
Son got VW Campervan, only one missing but which wasn't bad out of 1334, disappointing anyway. We also had 5 Harry Potter sets and 3 Dinosaurs as well.
My VW Campervan had one missing piece too - fortunately i had a replacement bit in my spare parts box - still disappointing as it was a present.Son got VW Campervan, only one missing but which wasn't bad out of 1334, disappointing anyway. We also had 5 Harry Potter sets and 3 Dinosaurs as well.

Just completed the Saturn V rocket set. In my opinion it is the best Lego set I have made. So many amazing building techniques and the complete rocket is huge at 1 metre tall, but it is almost swooshable. Mrs RosscoPCole wasn't very happy when I put a new shelf up for it on the staircase next to the rest of my Lego collection. I love how you can separate the different stages and it has mini dioramas for the landing on the Moon's surface and splashdown in the Pacific.

One of my favourite builds. An amazing kit.I have mine displayed on its side - with the various stages separated & sitting one the display stands.

We found some Lego compatible track on Amazon, less than half the price of official, not arrived yet but if it's ok we will get more as he wants to go all around the snooker table city.Son got VW Campervan, only one missing but which wasn't bad out of 1334, disappointing anyway. With the exception of a couple of minor mistakes and my input he built it perfectly and it’s now proudly laying on its side in his bedroom.
What family and friends haven’t seen is the detail inside of each section.
Not an iPad or laptop in sight.....
What a great, great model and I’m so proud he managed it on his own.

It’s a great set, one of the boys has it and several other space sets including the space station 60227, the space rover 60225 and the rocket assembly 60229. Did you spot the error in the instructions / packaging that suggest you can extend the track with the Lego train track? The track is, of course, the same as the Roller Coaster I think the City stuff is so much better value than a lot of the other themes. Our other son loves the Ninjago sets but £ for £ you don’t really get that much Lego in my view.
