Works with string. I've just had a go. Sort of got it working.

Edit: now got it working.

Quiet afternoon so thought I'd actually get some pictures of the Star Wars kits. Not really included the mini figures but gives an idea of what's what.

That covers most of it although there's probably 5-6 smaller sets and 9-10 buildable Lego figures in the collection. Still got Kylo Ren's Tie Fighter to build. Got my eye on a couple of others, liking Vader's castle from Rogue One.

Tried to upload but 2mb max. Took the camera on an S10e and apparently you can't change the image size. Which seems odd to me.

Edit, this might work....

Are there are tricks to building them or is it pretty straightforward?

If anyone is after a ‘new’ Saturn V mine is still sealed and I’m unlikely ever to build it.

I’m amazed you haven’t built it. I love mine - how much are you asking as a matter of interest?

I think what's happening is that the weight of the floating bit is carried by the central rope/chain, the two at the sides are to keep it in position so it doesn't topple, therefore ensuring that it's always the right way up with the central rope taking the strain......

Really straightforward to be honest. The hardest bit was getting the string to behave.

Edit, going to try with dental floss. Reckon it'll work well.

I love mine as well, one of the most satisfying Lego builds I've ever done.

Might have to do that one next.

Had a panic the other day, mrs wanted to g into the loft to look through the boxes of photos for something. I put her off as "it's a dumping ground" and I needed to tidy it a bit so she could get easy access.

a.k.a. putting all the unmade lego in less obvious places, including the Saturn V.

After pondering my options and seeing my inner creative side get more and more miserable, I buckled and went LEGO shopping, so late last week ordered some bits, which arrived on Monday (not bad going to get from Belgium to the UK in 3 days during a pandemic).

The Batmobile was a fantastic build, it's big, detailed, and importantly for me, looks accurate - the Keaton Batmobile was my favourite back in the day, and remains so. Of course it means I'm now browsing Amazon and doing some man maths to justify spending £450 on a Tumbler...

I've just started the Bond DB5, which by comparison is half the size, but I've wanted one for a long time thumbup
