I thought I'd start making use of my son's absurd collection of Lego (since he was 2 it's all he has wanted for birthday/christmas etc, he's nearly 6 now). Pretty cool what you can do with stuff found around the house...

Brilliant!

In other news I ordered the crocodile train this morning and got a free Lamborghini kit and a 12 in 1 kit. Really wanted the free train if going to the Lego store but still trying to avoid heading into the city centre with all this covid still hanging around.

Any thoughts on the new Lego Art series?

I can't imagine they would be particularly rewarding to "build." Interested to know the prices...

The email i had said £115 each. I kind of like the idea but 3000off 1stud pieces will get repetitive!

Expensive, £115 a pop.

They don't look like fun builds but are at least split up into smaller blocks and then assembled later, and thankfully they are circle pieces rather than having to line up thousands (literally) of square tiles.

That all said, the Iron Man and Darth Vader ones look stunning if you buy 3 (!) of each and then make them into the bigger scene...

I noted that from earlier in the thread... biggrin

By the way I bought from a site called Buzz Retail ( https://www.buzz-retail.com/search.php?search_quer... ). They have a few good kits left in stock at silly prices; the Aston for £108, London Bus for £86, Mustang for £95 as well as some Technics stuff like the 911 RSR for £90(!) and the Transporter for £96...

I didn't want to recommend them before I knew it was legit but as mentioned the bus arrived exactly as expected so I thought I'd share the link!
Just because it arrived doesn't mean the site's legit: https://trstp.lt/jDQdSyUG1

Fair enough but;

1) By 'legit' I meant 'what I ordered turned up at the price I paid for it'. YMMV/caveat emptor etc always applies. I used PayPal so I had some recourse if required.

2) I know two other people who've bought from them with no problem.

3) Their other Trustpilot reviews are mixed with some good, some bad: www.uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.buzz-retail.com

Bottom line is if you don't want to buy from them, no-one's making you. I (and two others) have and it was all good - not much more I can say really. FWIW, I have absolutely no link to the site at all so no skin in the game on my part either, was just trying to share a few good deals.

What external packaging did yours turn up in? The site is registered in Australia, claims to have an address in Hereford which is a car park and has plenty of similar stories in reviews. I hope nobody gets scammed as a consequence of your recommendation but come on, the site makes ordering Lepin off Aliexpress look sensible laugh

I don't recall but it wasn't remarkable enough for me to even consider it before putting it in the recycling bin. Honestly, if you think it's dodgy - that's cool. I got what I ordered as expected (as have others). Really don't know what else to tell you fella. If you're that unhappy about them I've asked the mods to delete references to them and I've deleted the posts (although I can't delete quoted posts).

As I say, no skin off my nose.

That's a pretty reliable store here in NL, usually have some decent prices too.

Think I will go for Vader maybe when it comes available elsewhere as 345 for 3 is really quite high!

At the moment there's nothing to suggest anything amiss, however given the comments of a couple of others here I've no objection to the removal of the posts I made. As I said I have no reason to either promote or defend them but perhaps better to err on the side of caution.

30 years after building my last Lego kit, I've got the Fiat 500 arriving today.

It is the first car I ever remember being in as a child, and every time I see one the hairs on the back of my neck tingle. I will buy a real one at some point, after 3 failed attempts at doing so in the last 10 years or so.

The Lego one will have to do for now though.

3 times over the last 10 years I've gone to look at one with the cash in my pocket, but each time there was something just not right, either personal circumstances, or imminent house move. I now have the space, time and inclination, but sadly not the spare funds at the moment!

Lego version it is then.

The crocodile arrived this afternoon. It’s been an enjoyable build so far and impressed with the price.

(Excuse the dust on the Disney train I’ve been doing some DIY and forgot to cover it).
