Another gripe, what is going on with the font on the box with the ship name, its so generic it looks like a place holder. Where's the Blue TNG font?

Just a moan but i feel thats a miss and another example of Lego just diving off into brand tie ins and big £££ signs. I do miss the late 80's and 90's space and castle stuff, and the city stuff too.

Its got stickers too from looking at the pictures.

They know alot of these models are secondary to the minifigs anyway.

Thats what a few people do to claw back some money they spent on the set. They only want the model and sell the minifigs on Briklink.
Some are unique to certain sets and make good money.

Someone kindly gave me a k2so from a play brick box a number if years ago. Think he sits on my death star at the moment.

Sadly so true but it s been that way since we existed on earth. Man fking over man to make a buck.

I remember a photo of someones living room showing multiple boxes that were stacked up of the unreleased V-22 Osprey. That set release was cancelled and traders were asked to return all sets but that photo proved many had slipped the net. They would have made themselves an absolute killing on those sets.

How they get unreleased and pre-released sets I don t know but I suspect they are independent traders putting some stock to the side and breaking it up for individual sales.

Some LEGO stores themselves put them out early I believe. You could have got some from Smiths to IIRC.

If its been over 2 weeks i’d get in touch with them.

It’s not unheard of for them to send out a replacement and then the other arrives a week or so later.

The listing said it was a genuine unopened Lego set (rather than a Chinese copy) so will be interesting to see if that is the case when it turns up as its quite a discount when compared to other retailers.

Well it actually arrived and is genuine Lego.

Although I bought it from a private seller on ebay, it was shipped from JD Williams and came with an advice note showing a value of £69.99.

I have no idea how that works from the sellers point of view or how they made any money but happy with the set for the price.

I think it works by using stolen credit cards.

I believe LEGO used to ban accounts that had items sent to their address from other accounts using stolen cards even though they had no idea what the seller was doing.

I’m not exactly sure how it works, but i’d imagine eg card details stolen, used at a random time, card holder perhaps finds out with monthly bill and contacts them, then the bank writes off the losses.

Not to say that your item was purchased with a stolen card, could be that you could open an account with an amount of cash back from the bank, then use that to make a purchase, so using the cash back to make the purchase viable at the higher cost.

I just remember there was a time when alot of people were having trouble with drop shipping orders.
