Video from my brushless converted Twinstar over out fields, bit of a harsh landing, a go pro makes a good air brake!

I've made the transition from quadcopters to fixed wing. Spent last week building this and flew it for the 1st time this weekend.
1st few flights lasted just seconds - time enough to realise I needed to configure some reverse settings on my TX as it was going left when I wanted it to go right.
Once I'd got the TX setup correctly it was great. I mean a very different and more natural way of flying compared to a quad. Loops, rolls etc...easy. Flying straight and level...very hard! A foamy flying wing is very resilient in crashes though. Have got an FPV camera ready to fit once the VTX arrives, so I'll post a video then.

Ive been short on time to get down the flying field and get my training under way.
As a consequence, I bought this :
It uses the same batts as my Helis as is small not offend anyone, so I can fly down the park of an evening and get my learning under way.
Even as a noob, on basic settings, its dead easy to fly,abd the panic button works a treat - corrects the aircraft to level flight in fractions of a second.

Here's my WOT 4 Foam E which I took out today and was fortunate enough to have Chris Foss himself fly it and give me some advice on trim and transmitter settings to get the best out of it.
By way of thanks I gave Chris his 1st First Person View experience - that's him with the goggles on. Taken with my Phantom 3.

I spent my Saturday running a small quad FPV race at our local club. We managed to get some practice and a decent race along with some some Phantom sinsoire flying before the heaves opened.
Here a short video of so,e of the fun, I'm flying a QAV 210, then an Inspire.

My two 4ch foamies, the ST was my first ever RC aircraft bought about a year ago, people give it alot of stick apparently for being too underpowered but I found it a great way to get into flying, its been wrecked and rebuilt a couple of times but still flies well.
The Acrowot is just fantastic, about 45 flights on it so far,a great stepping stone from the ST trainer and it gives me the confidence to move onto 6 or 7 ch electric jet/self build/warbirds etc etc in the future
Some nice R/C gear in this thread!!
I have this Twister V2 chopper and never had it off the ground, Apparently these are good for stunts but not easy to fly for the novice!!
I've all sorts of bits in the loft that have been forgotten about!!
I've also a Syma X8w although the fpv doesn't work!!
I bought this Microdrone 2.0 a couple of weeks ago from a bootsale for £4, No camera but hell it's a fast little sod!!
I took it to work (The bays are around a hundred feet to the roof apex) in the blink of an eye it was in the rafters!!
I've a few more small choppers somewhere too..

Am loving some of the pics - the chipmonk is superb!
just getting into FPV quads/drones as i've always been a ground based RC tamiya person but felt the need to get involved.
I have a Walkera 150 Rodeo and although its small and only got a 6min flight time its great fun and very punchy (plus parts are v v v cheap)
i'm also using a skyzone SJ-V01 headset
i've uprated the camera on the Walkera to a 700TVL one for better FPV visuals but the film is recorded using a stand alone mini spy cam attached to the top with Velcro..
here are some vids

Love the pics so far.
Have x4 quads, 2 of which are home built using naze32/ cleanflight.
Just started a new build last night ... this one will use the Revolt v2 flight controller running RaceFlight One.
The cable tie will disappear, it was just there whilst I soldered the wires onto the PDB.
I'll hopefully get another motor and ESC on tonight ...
