Here's a thought - you can omit the snorkels on the sidepods and do the post Silverstone car, they spoil the lines of the car anyway wink
I could, but I think they add a bit more interest to the model, which is not exactly over-detailed to start with. I think I might replace the wing mirror stalks with wire, and put a red "little lens" at the back. Maybe if a decent set of belts is available I'll put some in too.

Always great to see a model like that ^^
I think the headrest should only be on a Prost version from what I remember of building the Tamiya version, but let's not go mad.
You are right, even in his Ferrari days Prost always had a headrest that stuck out quite from under the airbox.

Hang on a minute...brake fluid seems to have done the trick after all.

Just for the sake of anyone else doing this - in addition the parts shown previously, the roll bar is also plastic, so don't use Nitromors on it!

On Red's advice, I've been using the B&Q stuff, and that ain't what Nitromors used to be, either!

The paint stripper I use is what nitromors used to be. Good stuff strips paint off diecast cars in about 30secs.

On this one, brake fluid removed all the red in about 30 seconds, and softened the white on the metal body. Most of it then came off with a bit of scraping with a credit card. I got bored with that and dipped it in Nitromors, which quickly removed the rest. The white on the plastic is good as new even after brake fluid, mr.muscle and modelstrip...

eBay : 191847148948

I use this, assuming they haven't changed the recipe since I bought mine.

Thanks. Will keep an eye out for any smaller containers!

I haven't started on mine yet but here it is with the man himself.

Interestingly the TSM figure comes with a separate sheet of Malboro decals.

Got the decals from Honk Kong. They look OK, but the colour is off:

Those suspension arms look much too thick to me, you'll need to do some work on them.

(When Heller did a series of 1/4 F1 kits in the '80s - still available but now called Airfix - I used to shave them down with a scalpel.)

I realise that, what I meant is that whenever I've seen those particular F1 kits lately, they say Airfix on the box instead. Logical really as Airfix now do a series of 1/43 WRC kits.

Surely the Airfix boxings of those F1 cars was decades ago?

That's what I thought too. I am sure those kits are still with Heller now that the two companies are no longer linked and would currently be released as Heller kits.
