Has anyone been hit with import duty etc. on these kits from China?
Yes, initially. Then I figured out how to play the game better.

All you have to do, with DHL deliveries, is find out what your duty limit is and ask them to list the price as just under that.

Make sure you find out what currency they will list it as!

How is that attached? I've got a smaller non-fake Lego Millennium Falcon sitting on my coffee table taking up room. Some of these Lepin models are quite tempting... Anyone got one of the Blockade Runners?
I followed the basic instruction to wall mount mine the same way. It's a screw in the wall a bit of cord and a bit of strengthening the interior build.

Looks great up there too. You can see that ring in this shot.

And I've got a blockade runner too. Fantastic ship and nowhere near as fragile as I'd been led to believe.

I found the Blockade Runner pretty good except for the engines which were fiddly.

I would also recommend the Vader Tie UCS. Looks great next to my real Lego Tie. The main problem with it was the printing on the hatch was a bit off axis. Also , the hoses were a bit long but easy to cut with a Stanley blade.

You're not from Australia or New Zealand?

Just bought the UCS AT-ST from Gelida, I decided on the AT-ST because of the budget for a new set and the fact it's quite different from the usual selection of star ships. It was either that or the TIE Interceptor (which I may get next).

Got all the big sets ssd, falcon, blockade runner ect and the AT ST is maybe my favourite set. Cheap and looks surprisingly good when built. Not massive but a fair old size aswell.
When you build it watch out when connecting the legs, the black technic axels are to short.

Now if they would just do the UCS AT-AT aswell!

Is the UCS AT ST in scale for mini figures or is it really out of scale and too large? (I'm guessing it is way out of scale but it's hard to find information on the interweb about that.)

Anyone had many missing parts from a Lepin set?

Started the Tie Fighter and have discovered about 50 black plate parts are missing. Have had to order them from Bricklink. Not sure if anything else is missing.

I've got a Red 5 X Wing and the Porsche which I'm yet to build but have built the Super Star Destroyer with no missing parts.

Sounds like there was a bag missing (with all the pieces being the same colour and type, it sounds like).

I know most of the emphasis of this thread is regarding Lepin sets but there has been reference to Lele, Bela, etc.

There has also been a lot of questions regarding the quality of the blocks, themselves, including fit (clutch power).

Most of the posts are about the large former-UCS sets but Lepin does make smaller sets and so do all of the other makers mentioned on here.

There was one maker not mentioned on here and that is Enlighten. I added 4 Enlighten "City Series" vehicles to an order a very short time ago as they were very inexpensive (less than 4 Pounds each, including shipping via ePacket!) and the pictures made them look really good!

We have only built one and a half of them but the fit, finish, colour, sticker quality, instruction quality, etc is TOP NOTCH! Better than Lepin and just as good in any and every way, as good as Lego.

The mini figures are printed extremely well and come assembled just like the Lego ones. In addition the fit of the figures is top notch with nice tight joints!

The sets also appear to be their (Enlighten's) own design and not just copies of Lego sets.

These images are obviously computer generated as the studs are shown as flat but in reality they have 'ENLI' printed on the top of each stud.

Here is another review I found online that compares Enlighten to a few of the other makers (like Sluban and Kazi that you no doubt have seen while looking for Lepin.

More stuff...
I got one of these from a flash sale. The one I got doesn't stand up well to being played with, the bend in the middle come appart too easily, and the pipes aren't bendy enough to stay in place very easily.

Not bad for the price though.

Well my Caterham turned up yesterday courtesy of Royal Mail - no customs fees to pay as the seller had handily marked it's value at $15.

Have yet to unpack it and see which manufacturer it is or what the quality is like.

Quite impressed with delivery time too as I ordered it on 28th March.
