I've no idea where it will actually come from but I ventured onto the Wish app for the first time today and amongst the junk there is a fair bit of Lepin listed.

A colleague mention her husband (massive Technic collector) buying from there, interesting as it's essentially bringing it into a relatively mainstream shopping environment (Wish is quite widely promoted in the UK). I imagine Lego will be even more interested in it now, particularly if it's being shipped from Europe.

I get all mine from AliExpress. Much cheaper I got this car and the Ferrari for just over 100 quid. Arrived in a week. Hope they make more of roscoes stuff

Thanks for the pics, cati.

Have you built any of the previous Xingbao sets - in particular the red Ford GT set? I wasn't especially impressed with the build for that one and was wondering whether the old F1 car sets are any better in terms of build quality and propensity to fall apart if you as much as look at it the wrong way....?

There's part of me hoping that you say it's fragile as hell, so I don't have to give any further thought to whether to buy it (or any of the others)! biggrin

it is my first build of this make. have built four lepins previously, saturn v, caterham, gt3rs and tracked digger.

overall the fit was ok. i wicked super glue in to a few joints. i am not sure if this is the nature of mocs or the manufacturer and seems no different across the models i have built... would i do it again... yes and for just over a ton for this and the lauda ferrari why not?

It's been a while since looked in on this thread - but it's been a while since I ordered any Lepin.

Thinking of getting a couple of 'Star Wnrs' sets for myself and also planning ahead for Xmas, so looked in again.

Have seen some "what AliExpress dealer?" posts above this post and so thought I would re-post https://www.reddit.com/r/lepin/comments/6ravbo/ali... which rates AliExpress stores selling Lepin - particularly since it seems there are recent problems with H&H (a favourite here).

Hope it helps.

SORRY - OLD LINK. Here's August 2018: https://www.reddit.com/r/lepin/comments/93pepa/ali...

I am still working on the Ghostbusters HQ.

Was almost done with The Alien lego moc but then it fell over so it went in a box as I just could not be arsed trying to work out how to rebuild it.

Having fun with the GB though. Seem to have been at it for ages..

How are you finding it? I would love the real thing, but just can't justify the price. I've not had any Lepin before and I can't decide from internet pics whether it looks a bit st or not?!? Saving £150 on it is obviously preferable, but if I am annoyed by it everytime I look at the finished article I'd sooner pay the extra money....

Lepin is excellent. I've bought 4 set so far and no complaints at all.

After building the Red5 X-Wing and TFA Falcon, gone for another SW set - i know it may be frowned upon as it's a current set, but went for the USC Y-Wing.

Tried a new company this time, outside of Aliexpress: https://www.yourwobb.com/

With a 5% discount code from reddit Lepin pages, their prices are pretty decent. Arrived 8 days after payment. Only on bag 4 [newer sets are now numbered, which saves major arranging into piles time!!], and so far, so good!

Hello,

We've been in China for the last 2 weeks and got a bit carried away buying lepin. Flying home from Beijing in a few days with two suitcases half full of loose bags, hopefully won't be an issue with customs etc?

Bought the Imperial Flagship 22001, Queen Anne's revenge 16009, Shanghai skyline, Great Wall of China and the Harry Potter Great Hall for about £75 in total I think.

Also got a really cool Suzhou water garden set by xinbao.

Looking forward to making them all assuming we have no issues getting them back.

And the prices are crazy, the Imperial Flagship alone as a Lego set would have cost us £500...

There should no problem at all with customs as the goods are not "fake" (i.e. passing themselves off as Lego).

You also don't have to declare them as there is no excise duty to pay.

You won't even have to pay any customs duty as the small consignment exemption is €150. And in any case is only 4.7%.

Just to be safe, you might want to keep the receipts handy.

PS: great buys - that Harry Potter set is massive!

Apologies if this isn't allowed but I wondered whether anyone here might be interested in taking the Xingbao Ford GT set off my hands? Lack of space (and the aversion of marital disharmony!) is forcing me to rationalise my collection.

It's a nice build - based on an MOC designed by a well-known member of the AFOL community, rather than being a knock-off of a Lego set - with no misshapen pieces and with good clutch power.

Here's a link to an Amazon listing which has a few pics:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Xingbao-XB-03011-Phantom-...

£25 delivered - which is a tenner or so cheaper than it can be had on Aliexpress, and saves you the risk of import duty and handling charges being added.

Drop me a PM if interested smile

Great thread!

Just ordered the remote control LR Defender.

Bit pricy at $152 but much more interesting than the Bugatti.

I'm really amazed and saddened that people are buying this counterfeit stuff. What this company does is utterly disgusting and I honestly would have thought that intelligent people on PH would understand the implications of supporting such theft. If it was a car, let's say a Porsche 991, which some Chinese were selling an exactly copy of (but made of slightly inferior materials) but calling a Porsh - in exactly the same typeface and logo design, to make it as blatant as possible - everyone would understandably be seething. Using the excuse that a real Porsche is too expensive wouldn't wash, either.

But because it's just Lego everyone thinks this is okay. Lego get to spend the money designing all the items and putting them into production, then these turds just copy the parts and punt them out on the cheap. Supporting it is just wrong.

I'm kind of in two minds. For older stuff that's no longer being sold and collectors and scalers have bought the genuine article and are holding onto them as investments I have no issue with it. It's not what Lego should be about IMO. For the newer stuff, well it's getting very expensive these days isn't it? I know much of what Lego sells these days is licensed and I wouldn't be surprised to find a high double digit percentage of the retail cost goes into Disney's or Ferrari's or whoever's pockets without even touching Lego accounts, but prices are so high at the moment! A conundrum I agree. I've yet to order anything Lepin but Red 5 is tempting!
