Cool Harry Potter MOC coming out but blimey, the price!

https://www.yourwobb.com/products/mould-king-22004...

We're going to need Lepinised Lepin at this rate.
They also do the MOC of the Republic Cruiser from Star Wars Ep2 and 3, and it's similarly priced. I think when it's not a direct knock off and they need to produce all the packaging and instructions etc, etc the price is higher.
High price Lepin, think this counts!
Fair play thats some brick count. And price to match

Do any of the Chinese sellers just do parts?

My boy is big into the Pirates stuff and wanted to have a crack at building his own ship. I wanted to get some of the pre-formed hull pieces.

AliExpress would be the place to look. Although finding the right bit can be a pain. Searching with the part number and "brick" can sometimes work.

My AlieExpress Saturn V arrived today, ordered on the 6th June. It seems to have arrived without any instructions. Can I use the proper Lego instructions off the net, or are some Lepin/King specific ones available anywhere?

Wouldn't it be just as cheap to buy a pirate ship set (or two) from China, then you'll have all the necessary pieces. Eg:

Yes, you should be able to use the Lego instructions, I did this when I built my Lepin R2-D2 and UCS AT-ST.

I did something similar with my destroyer build. I purchased a few sets and then used those blocks to build what I wanted, it was cheaper than trying to buy all the blocks separately. Only needed a few minor pieces from brick link in order to get some of the details correct.

Wow!

That is the sort of build you see in a shop window display. I do wonder how many of the parts are sand coloured 1x1 bricks?

Thanks, wasn't sure if it went together the same as the genuine one.

Just discovered my 1st problem with the Saturn V. I appear to be short one bag of parts. The bags are all numbered 80013.1 to 80013.45 consecutively. Except I'm missing 80013.9...

I've not started the build yet, so maybe they just skipped 9 in the numbering system, but suspect I'm going to be thwarted. I've contacted the seller but it's likely it'll be a further 6 to 8 week wait if they agree to send the missing bag.

Maybe you’re right. He’s already got a Black Pearl and Queens Anne Revenge from Ali (top option for a big expensive model for an indelicate 6 year old btw) but I have an old Caribbean Clipper model from years ago that I wanted to use as a base for him to have a crack at his own build. Only problem is the hull is a little short hence the need for spares.

Made a start on the Saturn V despite the missing bag using the official Lego instructions. Didn't get very far before the missing parts became an issue, bit so far it's going together we'll. The only concern is that the longer flat plates tend to be a bit bowed which means some.assemblies keep popping apart. My on is that once it is built I will go back glue any troublesome parts as I don't plan to disassemble it in the future.

Regarding the missing the bag. The seller on AlieExpress has acknowledge my message and says they are looking into it. Hopefully they'll post out a replacement.

This is as far as I can go at the minute.

Well it arrived quickly. To my surprise it was in a box, not as smart as a Lego box with crap shrink wrapping, but ok, especially as I was expecting loose bags. Now I have to check the bags. There are many! Then it gets put away until the end of August as it’s actually my birthday present.

As mentioned I was missing 1 bag of parts for my Saturn V from AlieExpress. Am having great difficulty getting a replacement sent and the seller is asking me to mark the item as received before they’ll deal with it. My thoughts are that the order is incomplete so I shouldn’t be saying I’ve had it. Any thoughts?

Sounds very suss, I'd be inclined to open a dispute as then at least you've some grounds for a refund if they mess you about.
