Probably being thick, but with the MOC versions, you pay for the instructions, does this also show you what bricks/parts you need to order?
Yup you get the instructions and a list of parts needed

You can get the parts list without posting for the instructions. That way you can see if you have the posts before buying.

No I didn't, what parts did you get to motorise it?

Find the set number of the official one you like, and then put this into the search for AliExpress. Then sort by number of orders.

I got the xl motor and regular battery box for about £14 from alipress

But the battery box was too wide, hence some unattractive remodelling of the underside.

All works well though

did you change the gearing as suggested on brickset, to prevent the teeth stripping?

I really cant remember but I think the paper instructions included the revisions

Mine is more of a display model, so I should be ok

I think the revisions are pretty simple, aren't they? Adding a few extra tiny gear wheels

Nice one!

Its a great feeling when (if) you motorise it, and all the things start moving, especially the engine pods

Looks really good. I’ve been impressed with how well they go together and no missing parts. Started off with the Warspite, then Belfast and have Scharnhorst and Eugen waiting in their boxes ready to be built.

Here’s the current collection, one day I’ll have a man cave so I can claim them back from the kids! laugh

After completing the first two I realised I could make an extra challenge for myself by flipping the instructions to make the cars RHD. A small touch, but makes me smile.

As per the others it’s from joooooy. It’s a nice kit, with some good details such as glow in the dark pieces. There are some downsides with scaling down such as the slab sided rear quarters but for the price it’s a few evening’s entertainment.

I make my VW camper RHD then realised it was on German plates, so had to flip it back again!
