Hi

What are the best (and affordable) large models available? I have the Pocher Testarossa which looks great on a shelf (and have the large engine trans kit to do still to it) but I would like some others to keep it company. The Pocher F40 is now out of range price wise new, Amalgam's are gorgeous but way out of range - so is there another middle ground. Say up to £300/400, good detail and importantly large 1:8 or 1:10 sized models? The models itself can range from F1 - Muscle - Sports & Classic (just no trucks or bikes).

Thank you PH, you're the best

Just a bit outside your 1/8 to 1/10 range but why not have a look at Model Factory Hiro in 1/12. Decent range of subjects and lots of detail. There have been a few build threads on here.

Pocher are still making models, the Aventador can be had for around £350 in 1:8 scale in coupe or roadster styles and a range of colours as well as a 1:4 Ducati Panignale.
They also have a Huracan on the way in 1:8.

aren't there some larger scale tanks? IIRC they do go as large as 1/4 scale (thought that IS pricey!)

Mark One tanks do 1/8, 1/6 and 1/4 but they are very expensive. Well outside the price range above, by a factor of 10!

Thanks for the replies,

Looking into the Aventador now,

What are thoughts of the Deagostini Senna Maclaren? Looks pretty impressive - and they are selling ti complete without the need to subscribe. Quality good on those - similar to the Eaglemoss DB5 etc...

Thanks again

Noooo....

The DeAg McLarens are NOTHING like the Eaglemoss DB5 which was just a huge, expensive toy.
I've built both.
Stick with almost anything DeAgostini.
Their kits are made by Kyosho and are flippin' brilliant.
Eaglemoss use companies like Kelloggs, or Tesco's Value...
Utter tripe.

Been there - got the Tee shirt.

This is my 1/16 model of a Panzer IV, made by Trumpeter and was about £180 (unless the wife spots this thread then it was £40)
