I was surprised - I was really looking forward to the build. The bad front knuckle is something that could happen to any brand without adequate QA, and Tamico sorted that without fuss, but there have been lots of holes too small to tap for the machine screws, so they needed careful enlargement or they'd be under huge stress when the screws go in. I got blisters putting the self-tappers in because the holes are smaller than the root.
One rear driveshaft is stiff through the upright, the other has slop. The steering is on plastic bearings - yes, Tamiya use those on lower cost kits, but the RRP on this is about £400, and Tamiya's plastic bearings are an accurate fit - these give the steering loads of slop, they're about half a millimetres too small. The bearing upgrade is £15 for a pair of £1.20 bearings.
There are self-tapping screws into the GRP top deck. That's a recipe for delamination, to the point that there's a bit in the instructions about how to repair it when it happens. Also the top deck isn't just a tight fit, it's past interference - you can see it distort when you push it into place.
And the body requires stupid fiddly cutouts around the gearbox cover - why not mould it to fit right?
I think it's my 14th recent build, so I'm not just no good at it! I've built Tamiya, Xray, LC Racing, WPL, and Xpress. This is the worst by some margin. I honestly can't fathom why people rate Kyosho quality.

Been out the hobby for a few years but i've been building this BRX02 for the last week or so. It's a lovely kit, a real step above the Ascender and SCX10's quality wise that I used to run.

That looks superb!
There's a guy (Freddie's RC) who builds competition RC Land Rovers, you might find his collection interesting.

Also ordered a Losi Micro B to thrash about the house
Never seen that kit before, looks really good!

You wont be disappointed with the Micro B, we have great fun in the house with mine, my little boy will chase it for hours.

Cheers! The Micro B is brilliant, I've only had it an afternoon and its already survived an accidental leap down a flight of stairs You wont be disappointed with the Micro B, we have great fun in the house with mine, my little boy will chase it for hours.
I found the power settings after that and 50% is still quick indoors. Looks a bit lost on the shelf beside the Landy and Chally

Awesome recent builds ITT
Getting close to taking the plunge on a generic basher
Which basher are you looking at? I really like the look of the new Quake from Arrma. My son has the Gorgon and the Quake looks like the natural step up: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/arrma-1-10-qu...Getting close to taking the plunge on a generic basher

I might have a small problem. This is only part of the collection built up over the last 15 years. I've finally got round to finding something suitable to store them on. Apparently the floor doesn't count.
This is my first foray into the world of RC construction equipment. Decided to start off with something reasonably priced to see if I liked this niche and I have been pleasantly surprised so far. This is the Yi Gong YG636 Crawler Loader:

By total coincidence I've just watched this YouTube review of that.

They also do a nice 360 excavator.

Hard to resist for the money.
And would be considerably easier than my current RC endeavours

FG Man truck, with a Zenoah engine. Almost entirely aluminum, hydraulic brakes, and various carbon fiber parts. The truck started its life with a Mercedes body, which was replaced by the Man body. I've had this one for at least 20 years; it hasn't been ridden in the last five.

Had a whole bunch FG's, Marder, Monster trucks, F1, Honda Accord, I sold most of them.
Tried boats and planes as well but its not my thing.

The only problem is that I now fancy something bigger and with hydraulic control...https://youtu.be/qFCQ2YOZq5M?si=bIX9ZvGOLj0S24_f

Being the inquisitive type and normally preferring RC kits, I decided to take apart my mini RTR construction vehicle to see exactly how it works...
