Waiting on a new charger and 2 new sticks, now.
I'm thinking about selling the Manta Ray, but they only seem to go for £80-90 and I'm still quite nostalgic about it - even if it is nearly a decade between runs! But I'm not sure I would ever take it out to play over the Wraith, so maybe I will sell it.
New charger set to it's lowest charge rate managed to bring the 2 old sticks back to life with a bit of coaxing I'm thinking about selling the Manta Ray, but they only seem to go for £80-90 and I'm still quite nostalgic about it - even if it is nearly a decade between runs! 10 minutes playing with the Wraith (in the dark) didn't see any servo troubles; 5 minutes playing with the Manta Ray sorta confirmed I much prefer the Wraith now, so there's a good chance it'll be going.
A good afternoon out with the cars today....
We took the ramp in order to try and teach the boy a little about air control and landings......
It didn't go well he always lands on throttle, it doesn't matter whether he's the right way up - he's on the throttle!
The senton broke a front driveshaft UJ.... My own fault for having the slipper to tight perhaps...but none the less it's a tough thing!
This LiPo - is ready for "safe disposal!"

How long should LiPos last and do they need regular "maintenance"? I have had two now, and after sitting dormant (admittedly for some months) the charger refuses to charge them any more.
From what I’ve learned about the fickle nature of lipos (it may not be 100% correct) The cells might be dead if you left them fully discharged. If you plan on not using them a while, you need to charge them up to storage level which is about 3.8v (per cell). Edited by Matt Cup on Monday 27th February 12:50

This has only ever happened to me with LiPos of a smaller capacity (less than 1000mah) especially the small ones (400mah) which sometimes can die if left a few weeks.I keep all my Lipos at storage charge and check every 3-4 months.
It's only the smaller ones that need a little top up but even then not much.
But when I dig out the eflite UMX planes out for the summer you can pretty much guarantee that the 280mah 2s batteries will be kaput after 6 months despite being stored correctly...
This arrived a couple weeks back and finally got it's 1st run in today, only 1/2 tank through it but weather permitting it'll be off to an old airfield this weekend for a proper run -
Pictures really don't do this thing justice, it's absolutely massive .. my 1/5 scale DBXL & Outcast 8S barely come up to it's tyres !

The Raminator looks amazing.... Lucky boy!
With the teachers on strike me and the boy went to the woods....
A Schumacher taking a tentative look over the precipice....
Moments after this an arrma senton piloted by a 9yr old who's ambition exceeds his skill by some (considerable) margin launched from here at about 40mph....instantly gaining 30ft of altitude and covering some significant distance...
We need to work on air control and landings!
The little Capra is proving to be a fantastic piece of kit... It fits nicely in a 20l backpack with a few batteries and transmitter and is a VERY capable machine..... And waterproof...

Are spares readily available do you know?
Finally got some snow to test out the Cross-RC EMO AT4V crawler but unfortunately the testing was cut short due to a problem with the slipper clutch.

Thanks for the positive comments, got the 1st proper run in .. nearly 3 hours runtime on 2/1/2 litres of fuel or 2 tanks !. Having been into R/C since the late 80's for pleasure and latterly work nothing has put a smile on my face like this thing. The size, noise and way it drives is like nothing else .. more power wouldn't go amiss though I'll save that for later.

If you've got the chance and somewhere suitable to run it just do it. Taylor RC in the UK stock a good range of spares (and the truck itself) everything else is available direct from Primal in the US within 3-4 days. Are spares readily available do you know?
