I can't believe the price difference. Aldi is £1.75, others up to £4. At Tesco today I got a couple of random cars for the little people and as part of the 3 for 2 gor the F1 espace. I had to go to Aldi the other day for work and it was dead, and found the 2026 Vantage GT3 car and a Maserati Tipo. And the other day my son chose a "yellow Audi" (RS6), my daughter a "surfing camper" (ID Buzz with surf boards) and I got the 296. And I found the Mini in a toy store the other day. I feel like my addiction has started.

£1.88 in George and around £2 in Sainsbury here in Essexshire.

Got this Lotus today will probably dechrome the engine as it is very shiny

Try some oil wash/Games Workshop nuln oil will take the shine off whilst keeping the metallic look...

Or, y'know, you could send it to me to sort. Promise you'll get it back...

Never see Matchbox cars round here. I’d love to get the 2cv to paint green for my brother as a replica of the one our folks had when we were kids.

I’ve got some Humbrol engine paint that I used on those 1:18 models I showed you, I’ll try that. If I c**k it up then I’ll happily send it to you

I've got a red Mini. I wanted one as a little mod project to paint it up a bit. My dad had a red Mini, before I was around, it had the white roof too so I don't have to change the main body or roof. It had a black bonnet and boot lid, so the plan is to do that, remove the side graphics and paint up the lights/bumpers/grille as it's very chrome and shiny.

Slim pickings in Aldi again yesterday. My local branch doesn’t seem to have any stock of the Ferrari five pack. Tesco fared a bit better with these three in a three for two offer so £4.80 for three.



My original plan was to collect Porsche models but I now seem to be veering towards Land Rovers, Ferraris and fast Germans. If I can find the Ferrari and McLaren F1 cars I have the beginning of an F1 group.

My local Aldi has been rubbish for the last 2 months, but they must have had a couple of new boxes out for my visit this morning...



Very pleased with the Escort & Exige which were 'must' gets, and left plenty of duplicates on the shelf for others...

Som really nice castings for the new matchbox movie. This NASCAR is a great model and would make a really good base for someone with more time (and talent) to make some lovely classic liveries on.
