Hot Wheels 1:64

What are people's policies on 'boxed' vs 'unboxed'?
I'm 50 now and as I explained earlier in the thread my 7yo son is enjoying my own boyhood collection of Matchbox/Corgi cars to actually play with.
We are busy expanding this with buying him Hot Wheels as a treat - it's a fabulous tool for reinforcing good behaviour!
However as soon as I give him one the packaging is ripped open and he plays with it, just as I did as a kid.
I get the feel that many collectors like to just look at them, but insist on keeping them in their packaging.
Nothing wrong with that, I'm just intrigued as to which side of the fence people sit?
Always unboxed for me. If you’re buying investments boxed will get you the maximum ROI but I buy them for my own enjoyment so they’re opened and displayed.I'm 50 now and as I explained earlier in the thread my 7yo son is enjoying my own boyhood collection of Matchbox/Corgi cars to actually play with.

Some people view the artwork on the packet as part of the display but for me the plastic bubble blocking the view of the model is too big of a compromise.
My son mentioned above (7) has always been reluctant shopper - it all goes back to pre-school. my wife wasn't working, she'd take him to some baby and toddler group then drag him off to Aldi to do the weekly shop, spoiling his fun. Ever since there's always a grump whenever we need to go to the shops - don't exactly love it myself!
Ever since he spied that Tesco Express are doing Hot Wheels for 2 quid as impulse purchases hanging on the racking of the bread aisle the little blighter can't get in there quick enough!

These look great. I don’t really go to the shops much, but will keep an eye open for them.
As for boxed or unboxed.
How can you play with them if they’re boxed?
They aren’t ever going to be worth any serious money as too many people are wise to that thing now, so may as well have some fun.

I started buying hot wheels when my boys were little, they got a car a week on a Saturday if they were good.
I was buying a few for me occasionally, mainly muscle cars and Jim, then they grew up But carried on getting them occasionally.
My son has just started buying them again in the last few months, he is 22.
So we getting into it again together , I have been buying them for a few years, i like the car cultures when I can find them, I have quite a few. It’s the fun of the hunt with hot wheels. They are cheap and a fun hobby.
Watching the Lamley YouTube channel has got me interested.
But it is a gateway into buying other more detailed 1/64 scale, from company’s like Minigt and tarmac works, so started this a year ago. I collect detailed 1/43 Porsche and Ferrari.
So I started a JDM collection in 1/64.
Here are a few.

That's a good little Ford collection there gen X , I have a couple of them , the Union Jack Escort ,also in a box and a few RS2000s .
The main point of this post is to show what I completed recently .
There's not much needed to take apart these old Matchbox cars and it's literally minutes of fun to modify them .
I could do a whole thread on my extensive RS2000 collection but need to summon some enthusiasm to do so .

New to this since when i received my Carrera 2.7RS in scale 1:24, back in December, as a present.
Was adamant i was going to start collecting 1:24 model scale. However, i have now gotten interested in the 1:64 scale models and since picked up a couple of cars from my local Entertainer Shop.
I saw this Carrera 2.7rs, 1:64 model scale, on the Lamley Group channel. Apparently, it's new for 2023 but i can't seem to find any links on Google of where to buy one from.
Does anyone have any purchase links to this or is it not released for sale yet?.........
