Gone off-piste in Sainsbury s this evening. Always got a soft spot for the NSX.

You can get an almost identical Hot Wheels NSX with the Brick Shop version

Pictures to follow but there must have been a stock update in my area as the displays were plentiful. I picked up a 635, a classic Defender 90 and a Carrera clip (key ring) today. The first from Aldi on the weekly shop and the other two from Poundland.

How tribal is Hot Wheels/Matchbox/Majorette? So far I've just got Hot Wheels. Do you mix and match 1/64's or not?

I've got all three.

Majorette is a slightly different scale.

I've got all three, but Matchbox rarely do race cars, which is my thing, and I don't see Majorette around much, so the vast majority are Hot Wheels

Oddly I'd not been a Majorette fan previously but saw this 1975 Porsche today and it was an instabuy as it's my fav era of 911 and the presentation of these 'collection' models is decent in the box.

Also then got very lucky with first pick of out of a fresh box of the new HW Timeless Icons and snagged a couple of the F50 and Skyline. The F50 definitely needs some metallic effect on its wheels though as the matt gray don't do the rest of the model justice.

Then followed up with a random Lambo Centenario Roadster find on the peg.

Today s haul.

I m disappointed in the Timeless Icons looks a rushed set to me, wheels look st on the Ferrari, paint on the Carrera GT is poor, the purple spoiler on the Koenigsegg looks poor, sat next to the Ferrari Le Mans car makes it worse which is very nice.

Hadn't actually noticed but yeah those plastic rear spoilers on the Agera and LFA are not good at all for the price so glad i gave those a swerve.

As for thew F50 wheels, think I'm going to 3d print some oem looking speedline inserts for those as its the wheel style it deserves

They are, but Hot Wheels is a different scale to Hot Wheels too...

Majorette, or at least the one I have, is 1.60
Hot wheels and MB are meant to be 1:64

Superb!

Is that one of those frames that goes on an IKEA picture frame?

Yes - it is 3D printed and comes in four sections which slot together really easily and fits perfectly in the IKEA Sannahed display frame. This one is a 35 x 35 cm frame but they do other sizes. You do need some card to go behind it but it makes a really good dustproof display

The supermarket had this Matchbox 240 which is pretty good

And then I was unaccompanied in a shop with a better selection and found this:

Must have caught Smyths in the golden window between restocking the shelves and the scalpers swooping in.
