If you mix some water into it, it’s far easier to use. It does take some effort to distribute the wayer Into the mix though. You can remove the excess with a damp lens cloth.

I’m moving away from the brush paint requirement too. I’ve got a Matchbox Boeing P12-E on order for a quick build, which has a lot of yellow in it. I’d far rather airbrush yellow than brush it.
What is it that makes yellow hard to paint? I've got a (started) SAR Sea King to do at some point.

There are only a limited number of chemicals around that will make yellow pigments, and most of them are quite thin, so they don't cover well in these applications. A white undercoat helps, but white isn't easy to cover well either. I found Vallejo to be particularly bad. I always try to use Tamiya White primer, since it covers really nicely.

Lucky i used the halfords white rattle can then to prime it...I've spent about 2 hours so far and got all the bits snded. That was over a week ago and the painting is still to happen.

Matchbox P12-E arrived today. Not built one of these for about 40 years, still look like nice mouldings. Hopefully get if finished over the Christmas break.

Hmm just noticed there’s no stand and no windscreen, yet it was listed as complete. Dammit. I was going to build it with the pilot fitted, on its stand.

Thanks very much for the offer, but I have a cunning plan. The success of which will depend on how much the vendor wants to maintain his 100% positive feedback...

I just finished a Piston Provost and I have the classic "M" stand from that (I'm sure I have a few others lurking about).

Tonight’s progress

I got the paint scheme done.

The ancient decals were surprisingly cooperative.

A quick wash

And how it currently looks.

It needs a bit of finesse, but not too bad. I will probably finish it tomorrow

Nice build - I like the Luftwaffe scheme on Starfighters. Shouldn’t the camo demarcations be straight edged ‘splinter’ though?

I think that might be a fairly scarce kit - IIRC Matchbox modified the mould to make it a 2 seater, so no more single seaters can be made.

I put a few finishing touches on and fashioned a stand fro some wire as the m stand wasn’t up to the task.

As for it being splinter. I was trying to follow the minuscule badly out of register image on the box. I suppose a bit of research may have been prudent. Anyways too late now...

Quick edit. Google shows it should be splinter. Oh well. I guess I’m going to have to build my Aldi hurricane now.

You know that Aldi hurricane I mentioned.....

I need to add the aerial tomorrow.

I’ll try not to do any more 2 day builds.
