My dad has asked me to order him a Hornby Rocket. Any advice on who might have allocation left as it's a limited edition? Russy does Jadlam have any space on the preorder list?

It is item R3810 or R3809.
Rails & Hattons are showing as sold out on pre-order, but Olivia's trains and Colletts model shop still appear to be taking orders.
There might be others. I just had a quick Google.

What a nice model – it's big improvement on the old Tri-ang version, beloved of my early childhood, and until last weekend resident above my desk next to Tri-ang's equally lovely Evening Star.

I've hopefully ordered one through work. Apparently the retro packaging one sold out in a couple of days but the normal one might still be available from retailers.

It is loco drive and a beautiful model in real life. I don't even have anywhere to run it (yet!) but had to have one. I know the designer and it was a real labour of love. The gearbox in particular was a challenge due to the extremely small amount of space available.

Ordered one directly though hornby. It let me preorder the one in the special packaging so there will be a very excited 77 and a half year old in a few weeks fingers crossed.

Thank you but it's the one that he can run on his train set that he's after.

His rocket turned up today, he was so excited that he ripped the box whilst opening it. So glad I managed to source the special limited edition box hehe Nice to see him enjoying something though.

Got mine yesterday, despite seeing prototypes running round the test track I still can't get over how small it is!

I'll suggest it but tbh I don't have any insight into the train side of things!
