You shell out £340k for a special edition Lamborghini and the front number plate falls off! hehe

That will learn him! Probably less than a tank of petrol.

Seriously what was the point of the prosecution? Did the owner bother to fit a number plate after he was prosecuted?

Do they have a 'no excuses team' for non-motoring offences? Asking for a friend.

There are so many supercar owners who manage to run without plates and don’t get done that it seems a reasonable risk to take.

I know this sort of thing has to be done, rightly so to an extent, but considering the general mood and the sort of crimes that have to deal with on a daily basis, their PR department really seem to want to go out of their way to look like they’re picking peanuts out of poo for the sake of fluffing up the jealous brigade and rule pedants for 10 minutes

That old chestnut? 'Jealous', or just 'why do you think the rules don't apply to you, you ?'

No different than if it was some stty old Golf or A3 with a US spec grill.

And you've proven my point exactly, they probably wouldn't have bothered putting it on twitter if it was a stty old Golf or A3.

Omitting the front plate isn't exactly exclusive to owners of expensive cars, and by the fact that it's only a £100 fine it's clearly considered a minor offence which they've correctly dealt with, so why the fk should we care?

If you only have one of 6 special cars, it's not as though you can hide so the rationale for the plate is somewhat moot. Some exotics just look terrible with a front plate too and if I was lucky enough to own one I wouldn't put the plate on either.

They may care a little more if the proposed legislation currently going though the houses gets through, it will become endorsable.

I saw some bloke hammering around in a focus with no number plates at the weekend and they didn't fine him!

Why anyone cares about front number plate offences I will never know.

Put a front plate on your car or don't, I really do not care.

Unlike many other motoring offences, it affects no one other than the Police, speed camera operators and possibly local councils.

You do see this kind of thing directed at the owners of expensive machinery all the time.

Car park accident between two hatchbacks? Nobody cares.

Car park accident involving a supercar? Worthy of pages of discussion and a news story.

What if you had your extremely rarerare, £340k, brightly coloured, loud, look at me supercar nicked and the police couldn't identify it when it drove past them because it had no plate ?

You wouldn't be so self righteous and full of indignation then, would you ...
