Can anyone tell me exactly what the differences are between
2017
2018
2019
720’s please, I’ve read some stuff but nothing seems certain, like the red Swoosh V’s silver etc

Thanks

I'm pretty sure I read on here that there are only two differences on the 720s are:

Earliest models
- Red swoosh logos
- Older software version

Newer model
- White smoosh logo
- Newer software version

The newer software appears to resolve some niggles on the earlier models. I've seen a 720S advertised on a 2019 plate with the red swoosh though.

Mid to late 2018 I believe. Mine is a late model, non-red swoosh 720s, registered Dec 2018.

What are the niggles corrected by the later software?

The electrical issues that some Macs suffer from is universal later cars seem to suffer less but many early cars did not suffer at all.

Rather than get hung up on this later software issue best to buy the highest spec you can regardless of red or silver tick

There’s nothing ‘official’ to be found, just a lot of owners exchanging notes on their experience.

I’ve had a 2017 and a 2019, covering 20K Miles between them. From my experience: less electronic gremlins such as spurious sensor alarms, key not found, windows retracting randomly etc. Improvement on being screwed together with less rattles. More pops, bangs and farts on gear changes (up and down shift). Hot-start function not available on later models (google it).

Not sure if the red/silver swoosh is relevant but at some point there was some slight visual changes and a software version which is not backward compatible.

Join the McLarenlife Forum. It’s US based (also with UK members) and has a lot of good activity.

Not possible for a 2019 to have a red tick, unless it's in fact an old car, but imported and registered in UK in 2019.

Sorry, what I meant was "cars advertised as 2019 cars with a red swoosh"

For example, there is a blue 720s with 4,000 miles on the clock advertised on AT as a 2019 car on a 2019 plate with a red swoosh.

Can anyone help with a link to a current price list for 720 spiders and the options price lists?

I can find one from 2017 referring to coupes but not a current one for spiders...

It goes on Model Year - there may be cars advertised as 2019 cars, however, this does not mean they are 2019 Model Year. It may just mean that it had been sat in stock with the dealer for a while, and then finally registered in 2019.
