Problems,Problems having to solve a issue with this kit.The radiator should be semi gloss black easily sorted. Big or should i say tiny issue, the track rods are way too long and after trying to assemble the upper wishbones makes the front suspension assembly look really odd,way too much camber and toeing out massivly. Will have to try and disconnect the track rods, fit the upper wishbones 1st then shorten the trackrods to suit . Some pics.levels 21-26

This is where it could all go p-tong to try and break the trackrods apart.

After a load of carefull effort to prize the rivets out of the track rod arms and pulling out the rose joints without managing to break anything allowed me to shorten both rods approx 1mm to get the front tracking looking ok. Scraped off the old glue and reassembled. Test fitted the front wheel centres to see if it all looked ok. Added two flexi brake pipes. Not in the instructions, some extra wiring to add, dash and temp sensor wire. Some copper (brake pipes) wire to run along the inner chassis to do.Handling this little model has rubbed the paint off in a few places, the radiator needs repainting, will touch in easily enough.
Some pics.

Finished to level 26 looks OK.

Looks great so far. Glad you managed to sort out the alignment issue out without too much trouble. Will be stunning once finished.

Thanks dudleybloke, the main issue is handling it at the moment with paint easily rubbing off but should touch in ok later.

Missing out level 27 until the end as its going to get damaged.
28 to 31
Oil catch tank next adding two pipes (clear coated silk thread) and breather/overflow tube from 0.24mm transparant thread painted clear orange.
Crankcase, rear lower wishbones and gearbox. The gunmetal useds on the gearbox will polish up lighter later using a Q-tip along with other parts needing a touch up.

Lower wishbone added

Some dash wires, temp sensor and copper brake lines yet to do,will use up some time.

Parts for level 32-33, shocks and rear suspension and disks prepared, cutting, bending, drilling. A error on the shock assembly found 128-129 is a seperate pin. No length shown so its a trial and error job here. Also realised that the upper trailing arm will be very difficult to connect on level 44 if the rose joint and rivet isnt added to the uprights. A fair amount of test fitting to check the rear suspension sits right before gluing.

The level 44 issue sorted and onto assembling the rear suspension parts.Fitted the rear brake calipers. Sat the model on a flat plate to set it all up then glued the components in place once squared up. Drilled some holes to glue copper wire as brake pipes for the rear calipers to do later on.The frame needs repainting and some other bits and pieces and as mentioned before the paint is coming off from a lot of handling and manipulating manly from holding the car with my thumb and forefinger.
Some photos.

Now onto assembling the rear shock absorbers.Trial and error as theres no dimentions or jig for these parts.
Time to take a break

Shocks built making them approx 7mm long without the piston shaft being glued so i could either compress or stretch the shock to allow fitting.
32,33,35 + the wheel hubs at level 40 complete.I can see that some jumping to other levels will be required ensuring all holes are pre-drilled to complete this kit.

After all the attempted festivity in house and on zoom, managed to get back to doing some more over the last few days.
Added some copper bridging to the brake calipers wrapped around 0.3 drill then cut in half.Alternator and Photo etch pulleys fitted. Chromed the manifolds as it was on the origonal. Predrilled holes in cylinder heads ready for leads, pipes etc.Fitted the heads. Its starting to look like a car so offered it up to the other two cars previously made.

Thankyou very much for all your kind and encouraging comments Davettf2,Dinoboy,dr_gn and s111dpc and anyone else interested in this car.
Going off piste a bit now ive finished level 37.A bit of sowing will be required for the sparkplug leads with 16 x 0.24 thread coated with crystal clear.
Looking at photographs of this V8 engine i couldnt at first make out why it looked like there were 3 pairs of leads and one on each end, realising later on from another photo it was just the way the leads ran. So it was either twin leads or twin spark. Will be gluing some yellow thread so i can see where im going, glue on each one as a fish on the ends to pull them through

Thanks very much Eric.Theres still a chance it could all go pi-tong. Im not sure the red decal option is going to work to cover the side body which im going to have to try before the trailing arms go on and a worry that the top and rear canopy which have to be painted will match the decal. If it doesnt work im going to have to do a lot of micro masking and if that doesnt work its going to end up being unpainted all silver. Fingers crossed

After a couple of attempts ive managed to sow the leads as extra detail representing the spark plugs.Had to join a bright colour thread onto the black so i could see where the ends were going around and through to the middle of the crankcase. Also the retaining straps will need to be made to go across the cam covers as per the origonal car and tidy it all up later after the coolant rails have been fixed.
