Thanks all. In reality the bomb-bay is much more complicated, but I think there will be enough to give that impression.

Re. the RBF tags - I was going to put some on, depends on how the look and where they are. I might just leave it at one on the nose of the Blue Steel missile.
Awesome if you can pull it off, and it not look fake.

They'll just be bits of painted paper. That's what I used on the Tornado GR.4 I built a while back:

Absolutely amazing. Do you do dioramas? Your models would be indistinguishable from the real thing if they were in a realistic setting.

No worries. Yep, these guys are getting fewer ad fewer. The family and I went to stay on Skomer Island last July for a couple of nights. It's a small island off the Pembrokeshire coast, uninhabited apart from some ecology researchers, a few visitors (if you're lucky enough to get booked in in time) and tens of thousands of seabirds and rabbits. One of the other overnight guests was an elderly gentleman - in his 90's; turned out he used to be a navigator on Valiant bombers (and one of the researchers was an ex RAF Puma pilot).
I was at the Farnborough Airshow doing a few years ago when the Vulcan crew were being interviewed by local Tv. I got chatting to Martin Withers, the pilot and I was at that time reading a book about the Black Buck raids. I had only just started it, and a I told him, and asked if he had been involved, he replied “ a little”. As the book went on, I realised he was being somewhat modest!

How you getting on Dr! Thought of this thread when watching the Hornby model world programme.

What will you do after it is finished? If you decided to move it on I'd be interested btw. Appreciate its been a labour of pain/love though!

Still looking at me from the bench, along with the Airfix Spitfires.

When it's finished (and it will get finished!), it'll probably go in the loft.

It must knock your enthusiasm somewhat having two difficult builds on the go.

Three crappy Airfix kits on the go at present - two Spitfires and the Vulcan. The last completion before that was the equally traumatic Airfix Swordfish. Between them, they’ve pretty much ended my motivation for plastic aircraft modelling.

I'm still messing about with this one occasionally. After embarking on adding some detail to the bomb-bay, I couldn't really not address the bomb carriers. Looking at photographs and diagrams, I scratch built / 3D printed some stiffeners, locking unit spindles, bosses and fuzing units. As with the rest of the stuff I've added, some features are accurate, others more 'cartoon scale' (such as indented detail represented by raised detail), others pretty much just an impression of reality. The idea was to just make it look better than it was:

and after fitting with PVA:

These are the originals, which, like the bomb-bay, are pretty much devoid of anything but the most basic details:

I wish they’d have given me the Victor K.2 to be honest. I’ve got the Matchbox version in lots of pieces in the loft (built in the ‘80’s). Loved that model.

Speaking of which, I saw a flash advert on facebook for the trinity of Victor, Valiant and Vulcan in 1:72 ftrom Airfix. It was £150, but they are sold out.

I guess the Victor was the bomber version? I'm after the K.2 version (which I am assured is a much better kit than the Vulcan).

Yes, that’s not the K.2 version.

Thought I would ask here

Are there people who will build models for payment? I have a Tamiya Ferrari 360 that I would like to have built up to match my Ferrari. I know that my model building skills haven’t progressed beyond those I had aged 13.
