This is a part build that I dug out of the cupboard for reasons partly mentioned on the 917 thread and partly below.

This is where I had reached before I gave up.

It is bigger than I remember.

This is the learning experience I dug it out for

A multi part windscreen frame including, just visible resting on the scorer, a piece of plastic film. Now I have to find the instructions.

One thing I have learned, I should have printed this out on 200gsm instead of the 160!

It can take 10 minutes just to cut out one part.

Components that make up the front - some of them anyway

This

Becomes this

The rear looks just as tricky

Daughters oven is off so no time for this tomorrow.

After a week of the current lurgy I am feeling a little better so back to this.

Interior coming on.

Body taking shape but build up of tolerances (or shall we say mistakes) starting to take effect.

Have given up on glazing, tried with pva and it sticks, but only until you move the glued parts, card models are inherently flexible. might work with contact adhesive but you can’t reposition. At least I know I am not even attempting to glaze the lights on the 917. This will end up with air where the glass should be.

Was going to screw this into a ball but tried a dry fit and it does look like a Smart so may as well finish it

.

And then screw it up into a ball…..

I am retiring and we are moving house, needing to reduce the volume of stuff so this went in the bin, as did the AT-AT.

Sorry no photos.

That's a shame.

I admire your willingness to have at least given it a good go!
