New model time!
Just had this delivered today, an OTTOmobile 1/18 Nissan Nismo 400R in Silver. The 400R has always been my 'lottery-win' car since I was a kid playing Gran Turismo. During my trip to Japan I finally managed to see one close up at Nismo's Omori Factory and it didn't disappoint at all.
The model is nice...for the most part. I'd heard horror stories about the quality control (or lack of) that OTTO have. My model isn't perfect by any means.
There was a yellow version available before this; I waited for the silver as it was always the one I picked in Gran Turismo!
It's a very detailed model and the paint job is extremely well done (for the most part, we'll get onto that).
There are a few issues with it:
Paint chipped on front bumper/splitter
Leftover glue residue next to the headlight
Alloy wheel is 'pre-kerbed', assuming it's a moulding error.
Having to contact OTTO to see if I can get a replacement wheel or whether I need to return the whole thing. Lovely model but it does seem OTTO still have quality control issues.

I'd be sending that back.Just had this delivered today, an OTTOmobile 1/18 Nissan Nismo 400R in Silver. The 400R has always been my 'lottery-win' car since I was a kid playing Gran Turismo. Yeah, I agree having looked at it more. Lots of minor paint defects and it also looks like the front windscreen is coming away on one side. In contact with OTTO now to get a replacement or a refund. This was brand new, direct from Otto as well. Back in the box it goes...

My local gaming store was doing a sale on Battle Fronts Great War game and well as I already play their WW2 game I thought "why not"
I came back with this lot. It includes 2 British and German Platoons (around 200 men), an MG platoon each, a pair of 7.62cm Krupp guns and a pair of 18pdr's. On top of this 4 MkIV's, a Wippet and 4 A7V's. Should keep me busy for a while!
I started off with the A7V's quite happy with how they turned out, the MG's were a nightmare to get on as they are only 1:100 scale the hull is solid resin and all the tracks, MG's etc are metal so they bend very easily.

Finally got my replacement OTTOmobile Nismo 400R. Still had one issue (rear windscreen had fell off, thankfully easily glued back in place) but otherwise it's in much better condition than the first one.
I have to say, the exchange process was really easy, so credit to OTTO's customer services. If their quality control improves I might buy again but otherwise I don't think I'd recommend them. Lovely models but it does seem to be a roll of the dice whether you get a decent one or not.

Revell 1/32 Spitfire MKIIa.
Finished very early this morning.
For what is a fairly new kit the quality was a bit shocking. Lots of flash and not that well engineered when compared to tamiya.
Why did I buy it? Well it's cheap and a bit of a test bed as I haven't built a spitfire for several decades. I didn't want to buy the tamiya one a cock it up.
I'm fairly happy with the result.
I have obtained some figures and I am planning to make a diorama. So more on that as it happens.
