Thank you. I normally buy a larger scale model to scale down from (or get plans), and then do lots of CAD drawings to used to create etched brass parts.
New question: 10 thou brass or less? Got to be a sweet spot of scale thickness versus fighting paper thin pieces? And glue...where are your blobs?gruffgriff said:
Fantastic! Modeller's joy to have access to the full size subject. But nowhere to hide corners cut in presenting to the owner...lovely job and no doubt the recipient is delighted?
Thanks. Yeah she is over the moon. Plenty of free flights available now. Lol One thing she did say was the Reg wasn’t painted under the wings to save money. I couldn’t not put them on though.

Oh you've got all imperial on me! 0.2mm brass normally (that'll be 8 thou apparently) - not too thin but will etch with sufficiently fine detail. Glue - I use Zap superglue - gosh that stuff is THIN - viscosity must be about 1! Apply with a piece of 0.25mm piano wire. It will wick into the smallest of gaps. If you do end up with any visible, just scrape it off with a sharp blade - it will leave the brass unblemished.Corgi diecast 1/50 scale conversion, from curtain sider to farm flat bed.
PC drawn decal artwork laser printed on to Crafty Computer Paper's laser specific clear decal paper. Really, really good to use and no need to lacquer seal before soaking and applying.
Forgot to include tail lights and stripey panel on the decals so gave the sharpies a go, pleased the slices of tail light colouring worked. Much better than my painting effort!

You make it sound so simple, matter of fact...! Really quite astonishing; still can't compute the size (lack of!) and tolerances......I need magnifiers for 24th scale.....
It is in a way, its just that I've spent the last 18 years making this scale of models - anybody could do it given the hours that I've put in. My first attempt at a Tiger 1 versus the (8 years) later attempt built in brass.Brass master here:
