Just finished this 1/16 Panzer II AUSF C.

GECKO kit so instructions a challenge.

Depicts a vehicle in France 1940.

Pleased to call this one done.

Edward’s 1/48 P40E. Amazing detail. I really didn’t enjoy the build at all.

Lovely job, looks great. I’m intrigued by the white engine cover panel. Presumably it was intended to avoid the Luftwaffe mistaking it for an enemy vehicle but I haven’t seen it before.

Was on the instructions.

I thought they used the nazi flag for notifying German planes they were friendly.

Did some googling and it was not poo pooed so thought I would give it a whirl.

Hope that helps

It’s a fair question.

For me it’s overly complicated, needlessly so.

You know that Aston Martin I posted a while ago? The cockpit on the P40 has twice, probably three times as many parts… in the cockpit!

I really skilled modeller could make it something really special, for me it was too much work.

My problem, not the kits.

I had a similar experience with the Kotare Spitfire mk1a

Unduly complicated and very fiddly.

Beautifully made and moulded but not an enjoyable experience

Tamiya Yamaha M1 work in progress. Had to have some time away from model making to look after my old dad but he passed away last week. Model making is a great way to relax and reset smile

Wonder if we need a WIP thread for those of us that take ages to finish a model but want to join in sharing photos and need motivation at times. This thread seems to be mainly finished models so not sure if I m breaking protocol with WIP pics

At times this thread stagnates, understandably as these things take so long to build and there's relatively few of us posting, so I wonder if keeping wips here will increase turn over and certainly they'd act as inspiration!

Here's an MPC Datsun pickup:

Shall we add WIPs here then rather than a separate thread ?

I think that’s a good idea. I just noticed I was about the only one putting WIP pics in here so I wasn’t sure if I was breaking protocol, but if it’s ok then I think it’s better to keep them all in here smile

Wow! Gorgeous. You could lose 1/16th parts in your assistant's coat!
