My Trophy R.

Great bit of kit, like a tarmac rally car!

Nice car, did the plate come off an Exige? If it means nothing to you I bet an Exige owner would buy it.

Thanks.

I bought the plate in 2011 in the hope Lotus would make a S3 Exige. I put it on the car as a half-hearted effort to advertise the plate for sale.

Haven't commented on Pistonheads for ages, currently own 2 Clio's, have loved Renault's since I owned a Clio V6 before children and responsibilities :-)

Ph1 172 - Standard apart from exhaust and springs

Ph2 172 Cup - Modified by me as I bought it as a shell with nothing inside

Cheers

Lovely Ph1! It's rare to see one looking so well these days.

They are definitely getting rarer! It does need some work but it's all original apart from the 2 modifications done before I owned it

Quite a bit :-) off the top of my head main things are:

- Spax RSX Coilovers - EPAS - Polybushed - Genuine Williams wheels, hubcentric spacers front, hub spacers on rear - V6 airbox - Ph1 gearbox - PMS exhaust silenced with decat - 182 manifold - PMS gearshift - it's also had lot's of new bit's injectors, brake lines, bias valve, plugs & leads, engine & gearbox mounts

How does the ph1 box compare to the cup? Do you also recommend the PMS gearshift? I need to do something about the vague feel of mine.

The Ph1 box brings the RPM down slightly in gear, I mainly decided to do it so that the revs would be a bit lower when cruising on the motorway, and the fact that a good one came up 2nd hand as my original gearbox was whining and grinding in to 3rd when being enthusiastic with it :-)

The PMS gearshift is great, a lot more mechanical feeling and definite shift, you get a bit of noise at certain RPM and they can take a bit of messing around to get the linkage set exactly where it should be but worth the money and hassle. If you are anywhere near Cambridge you could have a look at mine and see what you think
