Renaultsport Megane Cup S 275

I'd be interested in knowing if there was anything outstanding that needed sorting on it... Hard to believe it'd be there for 6 months just based on a few crap photos. I've been looking at 265's really but this is definitely still in the right kind of budget.
Nothing at all. In fact the only issue I had with the car was a wonky tire pressure sensor which I had sorted the morning of the trade in. It'll have best part of 3 years warranty on it too. I traded it in near-perfect condition but the pics make it look like they've parked it in a field since then. That, combined with them asking over £20k (then £19.4k and £18.7k) for it has no doubt put a lot of people off.My reasons for selling were a bit complex - a family bereavement meant I needed a bigger car to sort the associated house clearance, and the wife's car needing replacing so it made sense to use the Megane as a makeweight to sort both problems in one go. Long story!

Considering I got mine for only slightly more, with less miles, Recaros, Ohlins, and Akra exhaust, I think they are definitely asking too much.
On that point, I've just noticed the car has magically gained 5k miles since I sold it to them, and as far as I know its been sitting in their Doncaster branch for 5 months. KPB1973 said:

Once went for a browse prior to getting my 200 and they had a Focus RS in, would have been a wiser purchase but it had 4 bald tyres as in completely slick with thread showing. " If I put 4 tyres on it would you buy it?" was the salesman's patter.... no cheers..
They managed to sell one tyre of a pair I bought to someone else and so wasted my day. So many issues, avoid avoid!

WBAC offering 16.5k for my 11 month 10k mile 275 Cup-S. Reckon 18ish on a private sale is about right though
That would be a pretty good deal for you if you could get that! What an awesome salesman it must have been to get you such a great car etc etc Trouble is I'd be hard pushed to replace it with anything (new) anywhere near as good to drive for under £32k.

Was that just the online valuation? Mine was similarly 'ok' but they declined to honour the appointment once a real person - rather than just their website - got involved. Same happened with 2 of their competitors.Basically they admitted their website values were based on book price and someone spotted the retail value was virtually the same, so there was no profit in it for them.
Only Evans Halshaw failed to spot the same mistake with their website valuation and overpaid me as a result (largely because of the inexperience of the buyer on the day itself).
Talking of which, they've knocked another grand off. Its now £16700.

uggh that's starting to look really appealing despite it being EH and a mystery 5000 miles being added since trade in
Ultimately it's been in stock for nearly 7 months now, they're clearly desperate to shift it. They'll also move it to your nearest branch FOC and you might have some haggle-room.Edited by doogle83 on Thursday 29th June 11:53
Might be worth asking them the actual mileage? It's under warranty so as long as its fine cosmetically, then I wouldn't stress it being at EH.
