Trouble is I'd be hard pushed to replace it with anything (new) anywhere near as good to drive for under £32k.
I too wonder this!

Was that just the online valuation? Mine was similarly 'ok' but they declined to honour the appointment once a real person - rather than just their website - got involved. Same happened with 2 of their competitors.

Basically they admitted their website values were based on book price and someone spotted the retail value was virtually the same, so there was no profit in it for them.

Only Evans Halshaw failed to spot the same mistake with their website valuation and overpaid me as a result (largely because of the inexperience of the buyer on the day itself).

Talking of which, they've knocked another grand off. Its now £16700.
Yes online valuation. As I read it, the online valuations are 'guaranteed for 7 days' subject to the condition of the vehicle being as described, so any non disclosed knocks/dings/kerbings etc are fair game - but surely they can't just cancel the appointment stating their quote was too high? I can't see that in the Ts and Cs.

Also, I see 6/7 year old ones going for 10/11k all the time I know Renault depreciation is bad but surely a 1 year old cup-s car has to be worth more than 2-3k more than a 6/7 year old one with 50k+ on the clock?

Actually, depreciation on Megane RS has been historically low, not just for a Renault. They didn't make that many in RHD and they have a good reputation for reliability, plus a good enthusiasts following.

Had some photos taken of my car yesterday, and it looks goooood! That Abarth was £42k new and has the dog leg gearbox which allows flat shifting.

My car is coming up for a year old, just over 5000 miles on it. The service due message is on and is steadily counting down.
Went into Renault to book the service to be told, service is every 2 years or 12,500 miles, which ever comes first!
Anyone know why I've got the service due message? Renault were stumped.

Send me your reg if you want and I'll check (I'm off til Tuesday though)

I was sure they're on the standard service 12 month interval.

its 12 months or ~12k. I strongly suggest you dont wait two years to change the oil.

I am also considering changing my gearbox and engine mounts, there's a lot of inertia that goes on especially in sport mode. My gearbox is a pile of horse st, sometimes it wont go into gear. Supposedly nothing wrong with any of the mounts.

Tempted to sell the car actually as no matter how good it is, the gearbox is fking dreadful and every time I have to change gear I hate it.

Service internal on the Megane 275 is every TWO years or 12,500 miles. Whichever comes first

I took mine in after a year as it's on 11K anyway and spoke to the technician

Apparently most Renault Sport Meganes come loaded with the wrong dashboard software, so your "Service" countdown should be 24 months - not 12

There is an optional 12 month "interim" service. No fluids are changed and this is not required to maintain your warranty.

The Technician showed me my service schedule and it quite clearly confirms a 2 year interval.

Mine is going in tomorrow for the Knock Sensor calibration update (warranty work) and he is going to update my dashboard at the same time

Thanks folks!

Butter, PM sent! Thank you.

Have to say I'm not convinced of the wisdom of leaving oil in for 2 years!

May just get an oil change done when the car goes for the radio update!

On the dealers and servicing:

Finally got to the bottom of my car not revving to the red line properly. It was spluttering a bit and the rev limiter was cutting in early. Only noticeable when you thrashed it.

Turns out the garage I bought it from ( Renault main dealer) had done some warranty work on it ( dephaser) and when they put it back together they had fitted 1 incorrect spark plug!

Took it to different main dealer and they put a new set in and its running like a dream now

Sounds about par for course with a dealer, good job you also found one that had their pants on the right way round.

Enjoy smile

Hows your clutch pedal feel? Not going into gear could signal clutch/slave issues, the boxes are supposed to be generally reliable themselves.

Mines 24 months or 12k, depends on the plate. Mines always been done ever year still.

Renault have always been rubbish at communicating service intervals. I'd change the oil annually regardless and you will get a better price from an enthusiast when you sell anyway.

As for clutch pedal weirdness, often its the mat slipped under the pedal!

My car (275 Cup-S) did want servicing at 12 months but I knew that's wrong as they are 24 months / 12.5k, whichever etc...

I changed the oil at 1,000 miles and 6,000 miles anyway and it will be on its 4th oil by the time it's due its "official" first oil change next may.

Has anyone set their ohlins to the B road setting? How does it ride? The factory settings are 5/10 f/r clicks and the B road 20/30! Surely that makes a huge difference to comfort - not a golf R perhaps but must be massively more compliant surely?
