Help - space saver tyre size for RS Megane 275

Folks,

Could do with your help here. As I do a lot of miles a year I'm a bit old school when it comes to having a spare wheel as opposed to the "gunk kits" that you get nowadays. I might be unlucky but I've had a puncture in every car I've ever had. Perhaps an old flame is following me around with a bag of nails?????

My Meg 275 didn't have the optional space saver when ordered new and you'd think that a simple call to Renault would enable me to buy one. The hell it does! The space savers as replacement parts are supplied without tyres and they can't find out what size it should be.

So - do any of you folk have the optional space saver in your Meg and if so what is the tyre size?

Mines on 18" Tibors, 235/40.

Doesn't an 18 fit in the rear? Always though it did...... never tried though.
