Hertz have assigned me a ginger Renault Scenic whilst over in Belfast.

It's on Irish plates so can't tell year but assume 2016/2017 model.

The centre console is a horrible touch screen ipad style thing and can't find anywhere the option to switch it to show MPH instead if KPH.

I thought someobody on here would know but I've just realised nobody on here would be daft enough to buy one so I'm not holding out much hope .

Thanks in advance.

Instrument panel in miles
(option to switch to km/h)
Vehicles not fitted with a navigation
system
– With the ignition off, press the OK
button 12 and the engine start/stop
button 14;
– using control 13, select “Settings”,
“Instrument panel”, then the unit;
– Press the OK button 12 to confirm.
To return to the previous mode, repeat
the same operation.
Vehicles fitted with a navigation
system
On the multifunction screen, select
“System” , “User profile” and “Unit”.
Note: In both cases, once the battery
is switched off, the on-board computer
automatically returns to the original unit
of measurement.

Mine has the multifunctional display and when I go in to user profiles I can just edit each profile with no mention of units.

If I try the first option using the steering wheel controls it just try to reset the trip computer miles/average speed or whatever trip is visible on the dash.

If it is the brand new Scenic, current one (you mention a horrid touch screen which makes me believe that it is), if it is like Kadjar which uses a smaller touch screen, but the same system, then I don't think you can change it to MPH from KMH.

We have had this before with Irish Kadjar's, on UK ones you go into "Menu" - "System" - "Units" and it is in there, however for some odd reason Irish Kadjars don't have this facility and it can only be done at a dealership.

Obviously Scenics may be different, give the above a try.

Use it as practice mental arithmetic.

50kph = 30mph
80kph = 50mph
100kph = 62mph
130kph = 81mph

The 1st 2 numbers on the plate will also tell you the year.

Edit: of registration.

Based on this it is a 67 plate.

As someone said earlier there is nothing for Units in the menu system, have been through all of them so might be similar to the Kadjur.

This thing also has a HUD. spin
