mechanical TU1 head on a TU3 bottom end?

Hi guys

Short intro, ive got a pretty old 205 in the garage, with an early 1.1 TU lump, its got mechanical everything (fuel pump, dizzy, carb etc..), so the car has no ECU to speak off, old school low (/no) pressure fuel system etc..

Can i just take any old TU3 bottom end (probably FI, much easier to find), and put my existing TU1 head on? This would save me a LOT of headaches, and considering the current bottom end is crap (leaking oil left and right, blown headgasket) anyway, id figure swapping over to a revised TU3 might give the little car a bit more oomph
