Ds7 crossback

So what do people think of this new car , it's meant to be at the top of technology!

Its just another SUV, branded as premium from Citroën when it is probably the same as a Peugeot 5008 underneath. Not sure what else to say about it.

That or a fully specced Skoda Kodiaq...I know what I'd go for if I had to...

First brand new car from DS since they officially parted from Citroen, so an important car for DS.

Personally I like a few features such as the animated headlights and some of the switchgear, however the underlying problem is that it's an SUV - I don't like 'em.

However, parent group PSA have said that they won't judge the success of the brand on the DS7 and forthcoming DS3 Crossback models alone, they see it as a long term thing, 10-15 years.

Although I'm not interested much in the DS7, the future DS-version of the new C5 should be something worth getting excited about.

Underneath it's the same thing as the new 3008, so no different to the VAG group sharing platforms for Ateca, Tiguan, Kodiaq etc. I suspect though the difference is that this is the premium end, lots of clever stuff in the DS7.

I like Citroën's ideas and fresh thinking but I dislike their execution; they are all about luring people in with gadgets and quirks but the results are cheap and gaudy.

I think the DS7 is about £40k... hardly cheap!

Another ‘blah’ SUV then. Being based on those Peugeot 3008 underpinnings doesn’t help, as that’s all very yawn too.

Front end aping Lexus a bit much for my liking too.

Apparently they have specialised ds ambassadors in specific dealerships so you get premium service whilst choosing your car,like Bentley etc

The Citroen DS3, DS4 and DS5 were originally Citroen models. When DS was launched as a standalone brand, Citroen cut the cars from "their" range and DS took them on with a few minor tweaks. This enabled the brand to start with three cars in their lineup, although they were inherited from the parent company, PSA.

The DS7 however started life as a DS, it was never previously a Citroen, nor a Peugeot. It's based on 3008 underpinnings, and so will be the new C5 Aircross. Exactly the same idea with the VAG group doing the Kodiaq, Ateca and Tiguan. Different cars, same underpinnings.

The difference with the DS7 however is the ride comfort, I am told it literally scans the road surface and prepares each damper to provide maximum levels of comfort.

That's not at the top of technology though is it, S class and new A8 already have this and I'm sure other cars as well

I wouldn't own a crossover or SUV, or whatever they're called. I do think the DS7 looks smart for what it is, looks a bit different too,I quite like it but I don't think it will sell, people will get the VAG and Ford crossovers, even if they are very dull in comparison.
Thinking about it, the 3008 seems to sell well, and that’s French, and looks different, I suspect it may be somewhat cheaper though.
