The 225THP Puretech motor? It's a mild update of the BMW joint-venture Prince lump, launched 2006, as seen in Minis and 1- and 3-series for a while.
Have they stopped it drinking oil and eating timing chains?

With search-and-replace on the brochures?

Saw one of these on the road today, looked absolutely fantastic. It was a dark metallic grey kind of colour.

Sorry but been very busy over the last week or so.

Well, I'm 350 miles in and its better than I expected. I have done a long trip out to Cheltenham and lots of local stuff.

It looks terrific on the road and attracts second glances which suggests its just standing out as a little different from the multitude of SUVs in my area. The little dance the headlights do is cool as well.

What do I like:

Its really comfortable and very quiet.
The equipment levels are great although I really think the reversing camera and front sensors would have been good.
The turning circle is terrific and makes it so easy to manoeuvre and park.
Feels brisk enough and the sport button makes a difference. The paddle shift is easy and responsive.

Concerns:
The transmission seems a little jerky at low speeds, sometimes at least. It may well be me getting used to it. With 8 speeds it does a lot of shifting!
The glove box is tiny. Plenty of open storage and a big tunnel bin bit its only big enough for, wel, gloves.

I'm really enjoying the DS7 and very pleased with my choice. Funnily enough I parked opposite a Stelvio in a car park at the weekend and it seemed more bland than I recall when I was set on ordering one.

It is only a 1.6 but feels bigger than that. It feels very light on the road but it doesn't bounce about. I have a trip to Cahors and Sete in late July/early August and then a trip to the Dordogne at the end of August. One the basis of my first couple of weeks I'm looking forward to a most enjoyable summer of road trips!

washed it for the first time on Sunday and the wheels came up lovely!

Very happy.

Congrats!

Any chance of some interior pics? I'm interested to see the colour scheme.

Great looking thing, the back is quite like the new cayenne, well done for buying something a bit diffrent and not a Range Rover sport

If they're 20 inch wheels, then that looks enormous! Good colour too.

They are 20" and it does feel large from some angles. When driving, doesnt feel so big and the relative nimbleness and turning circle make it even less apparent.

I didn't choose or pay for the wheel upgrade, just something the dealer threw in. Would have been rude to say no as they do fill the arches well.

Here we go. Mine has the Alcantara trim and its very swish.

The dogs like it.

You have several options for the dash display. The displays are more dynamic than you see here but these are the starting points.

I saw my first one on Saturday in Salisbury, it was metallic yellow and looked fantastic in the sunshine.

Love those dash graphics, utterly Citroen, sorry DS...

The metallic gold/yellow is a great colour and very DS/Citroen. Not available in my trim level. They have one in the showroom in that colour in top spec and there are a lot of lovely toys to play with but it gets very costly.

I had a sit in a few times and got a back massage while watching the infrared dash display for people walking past.

Mine has the same wheels.

An update after 600 miles.

It's terrific and attracts a lot of attention...... But it broke down.

I cleaned it on Monday and it was in the driveway unlocked, without the ignition on. Went to go out it in later on and it wouldn't start, all systems going haywire. I feared the worst and DS assistance came out (AA) .

He diagnosed a flat battery and it started on his jumper. When we checked the battery something was draining 10amps without the ignition on. Went into the dealers next day and they were able to reproduce the problem by leaving it open and ignition off. New battery went in and hey presto all fixed. Seems there was an internal fault with the original battery.

Since then the stop start has been working where, on reflection, it hasn't been.

So, all good on the DS7 front.

I will always see DS as a Citroen, no matter how hard they try. it was Citroen's most famous model.

It's like Jag lauching a new brand called XJ6 or Porsche launching a brand called 911... OK that last one may already have happened.... wink

I think you're right. A bit like Ford giving Ghia a separate identity.

Still, it's fine by me.

I am booking a test drive to see if it stays on the "fancy that" list - I have had odd cars before Infinity FX50 6 years ago and a great Nissan Murano so not put off just worried about cost and residual but need to drive it first.

OP hows it going?

At the moment I'm in South West France on holiday with it. To be fair I'm on a boat on the River Lot and its parked up, but tomorrow it's back to the car and off to Sete on the south coast.

I'll be able to say more when I'm back home but its been brilliant and I LOVE it. The ac could be colder and I've had it checked but other than that no real issues to report. It gets attention wherever it parks and that's good fun.

Be interested to know what you think after driving one.

Funnily enough we stayed overnight in Limoges on the way down. The DS7 gets lots of attention on the motorway and the parking areas.

The trip from Cahors to Sete was easy but hot. The AC works fine if you have it on recirculating. It was 38 degrees outside so I guess that's not surprising. The French motorways have been infested by middle lane morons these days so smooth cruising wasn't always easy. I had my cruise control set to 135kph so as not to attract attention and the DS whizzes along really well at that speed. Quiet, stable and all I could want. Came off the A9 into hideous town traffic and it was just at home there.

By strange coincidence found ourselves behind another DS7, the only other one I've seen on the road.

Lots more interest shown here in France. Pointing and walking over to have a look. Feels very cool and the love for it is growing deeper.
