You do know that salon in French can mean a show or exposition (as in an exhibition of goods...) do you?
I love it when people wear their ignorance like a badge of office!
You do know we aren't in France don't you? Or do you perhaps mistake pretentious crap for sophistication?I love it when people wear their ignorance like a badge of office!

I've ordered one.
They drive lovely. I'm getting the 225bhp petrol.
Probably in red and the performance line trim which is all alcantrara. Just waiting for stock lists to update to agree goalkeeper and delivery date.
I think they do stand out externally and internally it feels very modern and bright. I was only recently persuaded by the sub thing. DS have stolen a sale from Alfa as I had intended to order a Stelvio but woeful dealer performance and problems in production and delivery put me off.
The earlier point about the dealers having a special area and dedicated teams for DS is correct. We looked closely at the 3008 which I really like but it priced up close to the DS7 and the extra space won through.
Ill let you know how I get on.

Congrats! Very interested to hear how you get on.
What spec and options did you go for?
Performance line from with the 2 options that give keyless entry and power tailgate. That's my baseline and cars coming into stock may have more options which I will then discuss. What spec and options did you go for?
It's well equipped as standard and stays below the extra car tax threshold. Should get the spec and delivery date by Tuesday.
Robins and Day in Chingford. Which is handy as I live in Chingford.

They are main DS dealers for, well....he told me London but at least for some distance. They have a dedicated end of the showroom for DS. Very keen to close the deal but in general they are a bit unsure of their own market I think.
The top of the range models are really nice, but a lot more expensive. Mine is the Performanceline model and I went for the Petrol. I wanted a couple of extras on the car ideally but they were then looking at 4 months plus on delivery. They (DS) have a stock of cars in the UK but few, if any, with options pre fitted. Minor stuff, reversing camera, power boot, that sort of thing. I didn't want to wait and they weren't deal breakers so I saved some quids and went for a physical car rather than pre order.
They are very new in terms of customers taking delivery. They have had one go out the door which was a launch edition ordered last year and went to a chap some way away in Herts. They tell me I'll be the first in East London / Essex, and that's kinda cool.
Since ordering I have been paying much more attention to the suv's on the road. Externally one is hard pushed to tell one from another at a glance. Its more subtle than just badges. It's the interiors which are the real keys. I really like the DS7 interior but I suspect its not for everyone. Similarly I recently had a hire Hyundai Tuscon. Very capable, comfortable but actually, its not great internally when you start comparing it. (Incidentally very expensive on a PCP deal too.) I like the Alcantara trim rather than leather and it has more bells and whistles than I can ever use.
I also find that there is a massive difference in how easy suvs ar to get in. You'd think it would be easy, but my chums AMG Merc Panzer Tank is really awkward and I bang my bloomin head every time, similarly with the Hyundai mentioned above. The Stelvio I was going to order was better but this is the best of the bunch for me. Its probably because I'm a chubby, non yoga practicing 57 year old but still.
