To troubleshoot you should follow the steps, this is info coming from (ex-)owners, who know what they are talking about.

If you don't want to get your hands dirty, then why ask? Drive it to the garage, pay some money and get it fixed.

On other other hand, get stuck in and change some bits, it's a cheap car that is easy (generally!) to work on. FYI, the injectors are 5 bolts, pull them rail out, swap injector, push back in, 5 bolts. I changed 1 in under 10 minutes.
Have already got my hands dirty, don't want to make things worse by messing with things I know nothing about. If it's as simple as you say then it may be worth a punt, even for me thumbup

Good! It really is straight forward. I've done a lot on this car, it's not hard.

Your best bet is getting the codes read first though, so at least you know what injector you need to swap, or how many you need.

I got the WIFI version of this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B011O69946/ref=pe_1909...

Free app on my phone told me what was wrong. I'm genuine about the offer of help, if you're near Oxford.

take the injector rail out, hold it against a piece of cardboard and get someone to turn the car over. If an injector is at fault it won't squirt fuel out onto the card.

Easy to check and then a simple change if one is broken.

We had a misfire and diagnosed which injector was at fault with this method. follow this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkheroqITQ4

A quick update, I changed the air filter a week or so ago but have driven it very little & only around town where it felt Ok.

Took it for a 6-8ml each way mixed drive yesterday, A & B roads & DC & it still felt Ok, there *may* be a slight hesitation at points but I could be imagining that as I'm expecting to feel something.

Either way, it's a hell of a lot better than it was so I'm going to leave it for now & see how it goes, if it re-occurs I know it's almost certainly an injector fault.

Thanks again all thumbup
