Clio 182 - Gear Box Selection Fault

Hi all, as above, sometimes when in neutral, the gear lever will not move, it locks solid. After a few attempts it then frees off!
Had it on the ramp and no visible faults with the selector rod etc.
Any ideas ?
Second gear syncro seems a tad worn and the gear lever travel back to second seems too long ?

There are lots of ways for the linkage to wear, get sloppy, and for it to become harder to find a gear... first port of call is usually the little white plastic bush under the gearbox that the selector mechanism pivots from. It's sort of hidden behind the gearbox selector arm.
