Saxo diesel won't start

Saxo diesel x-reg won't start. It's been starting perfectly. I parked up, went out three hours later and it won't start. Turns over fine - so battery fine - starter working fine, but car won't kick into action. Plenty of fuel in.

One clue to failure could be that the glow plug light only flashes on - whereby normally it is on for 4 or 5 seconds. Glow plugs were changed less than 2 years ago.

Do you thing it's the glow plug relay control module? Or any other ideas?

It certainly sounds like the relay,or the connections to it,at fault, the glow plug light should stay on for at least 10 seconds. Put a test light on each glow plug and turn the ignition on.
As its an old car check the relay multi plug,earth etc,could be corroded poor connections?

Thanks for your reply. Earths seem well connected, fuses OK etc so I'm hoping I'm on the right path. I've ordered a relay - fingers crossed.

If you run a lead from the positive on the battery and touch it onto a glow plug nut for about 10 to 15 seconds it should make the glow plugs work.
