This 'beep' will likely be a squeaky sports exhaust valve (hence why happens in sport mode), needs a visit to the dealer for check over (plenty have been replaced on warranty). This is when you tell me it doesn't have a sports exhaust!
Thanks all for the advice. Alpine confirmed its the valve and they are offering to replace the exhaust as there is no other fix at the time. They are working on a fix where the exhaust wont need to be replaced but they said it could be 2022 by the time they have something. I've been told that it could also fail again. there's about a 20% chance of the valve make the squeak again. At least they can do this while I wait. About an hours work Alpine have suggested.Sporky said:
In contrast to all the photos of A110s in stunning scenery, this was my trip yesterday - to an industrial estate just outside Bracknell. Perhaps not quite as glamourous, but still a lovely outing.
We could have passed each other. I was driving in Bracknell yesterday too. Not so glamourous as the industrial estate though, just back roads on my way to Windsor. LIFE110 Geo settings applied to the car today. On the roads a lower speeds not really noticed much difference but quite noticeable a higher speeds. Feels really planned now. On the motorway it was even more evident. If you are in the Berkshire area I would highly recommend John at ALS tyres. Really knows his stuff and does a lot of geo work on sports/race cars. Took about an hour to dial it in as the tolerances were quite tight.
Off next week to get the brake pads and hoses changed. Hopefully this will improve the initial feel as the bite is quite slow to take up. sometime takes you by surprise how much force is needed.

I was more on the South side. But on the way home there was a lane closure - yet again, indicate and I got let straight in to the other lane. I wonder if the back of an Alpine is just nicer to look at than the back of a Focus... Frada01 said:

I actually like the fact that you have to mean it to get serious braking - though it's comes as a surprize these days. In the past (when mags actually measured pedal pressure) is was generally recond that 100lb (45kg) was ideal at maximum braking. I suspect it's more typically half that these days. If you are trail braking (or even LFB) light brakes are not ideal.Edited by bcr5784 on Thursday 17th June 19:15
So I opened the driver's door for my usual evening spin and found this piece of surround protect/sound proofing on the accelerator, dead straight. I'm guessing the heat from the last few days and today's sudden drop has caused materials to expand and contract. Anyone know where it should fit? On the plus side I'm sensing a performance gain in reduced kerb weight and increased cabin noise!
Some further interesting suspension options for the A110 under development.
I understand via an Insta feed that https://www.raceshocks.uk/ have developed and fitted the first ever active ride system to the A110.
I have purchased from them before back in my Caterham days so have sent an enquiry to understand further what they have developed ? I don't know for sure but suspect in conjunction with https://tractivesuspension.com/automotive/
"Tractive ACE technology (Activity Controlled Electronic) creates the ability to have a compliant, forgiving and comfortable car for daily commute while, with a push of a button, the vehicle can transform to active and responsive for fast road and even an occasional track day.
This change is possible due to the patented Tractive DDA Valve, which can benefit of a large damping adjustment range within milliseconds.
The vehicles movements are measured, using this information, each damper is individually controlled. Dependent on setting, this can result from a comfortable but safe set-up to a sporty and responsive set-up."
One of the joys of the A110 is the single set up that just does everything but this is very interesting nonetheless

First post on this Forum... I thought a picture would be in order.
I bought my A110 in 2019, Légende, Abysse Bleu, Serac wheels, sports exhaust, etc...
Changed the springs with these from Life110 + geometry. (see picture)
I'm very happy with the car, i use it a lot as a daily and also for the fun stuff...
I have been looking at the wheels that Life110 sells, the "Atelier Colour System EVO Corse Alpine Cup Wheels".
https://life110.co.uk/collections/alpine-a110-tuni...
Are there people on this forum who also have these, and can compare them to the Serac (or other) OEM wheels? I would stay with the standard tires for now, maybe later change to the A110S tires.
I am told that it would make a difference, because the the Serac wheels are an inch narrower (7 & 8 inch) than these cup wheels. (8 & 9 inch).
They are available in different colours.I want to avoid black and am thinking 'a shade of bronze', but have not decided on colour.
Who helps me out with a few pictures of their cars with these wheels fitted?
Thanks!

Hi Exige
Welcome! Great image and lovely to see another Abyss Blue. Mine's coming in that colour and yours makes me think I definitely chose the right colour! Am I correct thinking yours is a little bit lower with the Life110 springs?
Hello, Abysse Bleu is great, you will love it. Sometimes it's blue, sometimes almost black. It brings out the lines of the car. I also like black cars, but not so for the Alpine... Welcome! Correct about the life110 springs. I believe 1.6 cm (1 inch?) I think it looks better like this. A little more dangerous on the speed bumps though...
Enjoy!

That's a pity - one of the nice things about the A110 in standard form, is that you need give speed humps no more respect than you would in a family hatchback. Perhaps less, as the damping is so good.Enjoy!

Here's an unfortunate sentence - anyone had issues with clear coat coming off? Been having PPF applied before the car has even been on the road and good portions have come off.
That's a real shame, sorry to hear that. As far as I'm aware, A110s aren't known to have weak clear coats or soft paints unlike some marques such as Tesla. Which PPF has been used? XPEL Ultimate whilst popular and a good choice are known to make use of fairly aggressive adhesive to ensure their PPF (which is less pliant (and slightly thicker) than others) sticks to the body surface. Are you saying clear coat is coming off during application?Mannginger said:
I was at Alpine Centre London West yesterday dropping mine off for post-knock inspection and repairs and took a quick snap of a couple of their stock. I love the pale blue coloured Pure and actually really like teal S albeit not with those wheels.
That’s ‘French Blue’ I think. Fantastic with the black wheels. Definitely one of my faves. Just needs the yellow tinted spotlights…Gassing Station | Alpine | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
