I recently wrote asking for advice about taking our Mulsanne on the Eurotunnel, thanks to all who replied. I'm just about to make a car over 1.85m height reservation which seems to be the best option.

Please can anyone advise on this next question..... If for example I book a slot on a train at 15.00hrs and I make good time through France, arriving at let's say 13.00hrs, will I be permitted on to an earlier train if it's not a flexible tickets?

I don't really want to buy the flexible tickets unless I really have to, as they're quite a lot more expensive. Can anyone advise on this please?

Thanks in advance

Every time I've used it, if you turn up early (or late) they'll get you on the next available train that there's free space on.

Yes, although it'll depend if they have any spaces in the high vehicle carriage. I arrived early once and had to wait an hour for the next train because I was in a 4x4 which needed the height. You could travel in a normal carriage if you had too.

I would not go in the normal carriage far to easy to damage the wheels. Make sure you go in high vehicles like you have booked, far more space.
