Now that a 3-4 year old Mulsanne Speed has lost 70% of its original value at a rate of around £10-£12 per mile, I’m seriously thinking about getting in to one.

Any owners willing to share their experience? Is the Speed worth the extra over the normal model?

There’s no discernible difference drive wise, to be honest. Main issues with the Mulsanne is its size, which may or may not be a problem, depending on where you drive it to.

I owned a mulliner mds, 16 plate, actually a great drive, naim stereo is sublime and very powerful, seats are the most comfortable I have ever sat in. Massage function is okay. Adaptive cruise control very good system, literally you can not have your feet on the pedals for an entire journey including stop start traffic. And it is fast.

And that suited my needs at the time of ownership. The same car pops up regularly in the classifieds, Once one realises that it’s a very occasional car, and not an all rounder in any way, I guess it’s surplas to requirements, unless you do a lot of long drives to hotels, golfing, etc, etc.

Rear seats are really only for 2 passengers, not 3, the middle seat is too small and leg room cramped due to the drive shaft hump in the floor.
More passenger room in the back of a Dodge Ram. Bootspace small for the size of the car.

Sounds a bit negative but hope some of that helps!
