Hi there,

Just putting the feelers out there a continental gt is possibly on my radar in the next 6 months or so looking at around 04 to 06 reg.I wouldn't want to keep one on a driveway so it would be rent a garage.I currently rent a garage that I keep a car in but am moving and that car will be going in the garage that's with the new house so thoughts are put conti in garage I've been renting. It is a standard size single garage will a conti fit ? I'm of the slim variety so like to think if I breathe in I could squeeze out after parking car up.

Cheers Chris

Without knowing specific sizes of your garage who knows.
Just check the dimensons with a tape measure. You can easily get the sizes of the conti off the internet

Who knows? On the face of it a GT would probably fit in a std garage as the GT isn't as big as some people think. However, whether you could open the door enough to get out would depend on the internal structure of the garage, ie any the positioning of any supporting pillars etc.. How big is a std garage? New or old? Built to the absolute min size or slightly bigger? What type of garage door (ie actual available width) etc. etc.. Any internal fittings that might restrict length/width, ie taps, boilers etc?

As already mentioned, the only way is to measure both.

When I bought mine I found a similar one for sale and during the test drive asked the owner if I could see if it fitted in my garage. He said yes so I drove it home to make sure.....

That was one option I thought of as well if any good examples pop up within a 25 mile radius or so ask the owner on a test drive to see if will fit in garage.I do have an Octavia estate with a two bar that fits in garage with about6 inches to spare at the end so my think9ng length will be ok it's just width with getting drivers door opened when parked up.

As others have said - impossible to know without dimensions but the GT is a hard car to park in a confined space due to visibility in my experience and width not length is your issue - opening the huge doors in a standard garage is tricky when the car is already almost 2m wide. Only way to know is find a willing owner and slowly check the fit in your garage.

If you do end up with a problem, try winding the window down when getting in and out - makes it a lot easier.

Or you could buy a car with a sunshine roof!!biggrin
