25mpg on your Glasgow trip is stuff of dreams !
I must take mine out for a long cruise and see what I can get but these days my daily driving will rarely hit double digits......but I don't care.....until I pay on rhe forecourt then I do care rofl

As for the wing mirror, tts, stuff like that really annoys me. You try to take all reasonable precautions and put effort into keeping something nice and some scroat comes along.. furious

2 shots from differing days, guess which one was from today ...

On a side note I appear to have a coolant leak so hoping its just a jubilee clip, cracked or loose hose and not anything more. Will try to get it looked at thus month.

Managed to hit a high of 21.49mpg in my Turbo R, which I thought was pretty good

Well popped into my local specialists to see if they could see a coolant leak or book it in for testing.
They very kindly stuck it on a ramp and had a good look, unfortunately they couldn't find anything. So quick pressure test and levels check and everything still OK so a little mystery.
Test did show coolant was only good to minus 15 to I'm going to syphon a approx a litre out the expansion bottle and then top it up with pure antifreeze and this should lower the freezing temps. Then I will just watch the levels and see what happens and if it drops again then book it in for a full going over. I might get a flush and refill done when its serviced in May.

Mind it's cost me £75 to order some official antifreeze (5 litre container), did look at some cheaper options but with such an older engine design I thought it best to stick with approved stuff.

It certainly is. They aren't fully open / operational at the moment as Alan has had some recent surgery and not fully fighting fit yet but hopefully it will all get back to normal soon

The good news is she is driving beautifully and is so much nicer today, when she is being used almost daily than when I first got her and she had barely been used over the previous few years.

I am still losing coolant though, so obviously a minor leak somewhere. Probably a litre every 3 to 4 weeks. Pointless trying to book in at present as there has been so much rain the car will be soaked underneath just driving to the workshop (so difficult to spot leak)but will get it looked at again once things dry up a bit.

That said it has been dry today, yippee, so gave it a much needed wash !

A nice little milestone, all the 5's came up today
(Still need to get it in the shop for the elusive small coolant leak to be tracked down and sorted)

Well my coolant issue now has a diagnosis.
Towards the bottom of the V where coolant goes into the main engine the seal is failing.

A bad pic taken from a video but its where the torch is shining.
Anyway I'm now looking at about 20plus hours of labour frown
