May well be a fine car, if you accept the image associated with newer owners

Yeah, I mean that chrome around the grille really spoils it for me. Just unnecessary!

Some of the predictions regarding depreciation in 2008 where wildly optimistic- or should that be pesimistic?

It was never going to drop down to 10k in four years, and the comparison with a Mercedes cl 600 is also a bit off.

At the moment purely based on the increasing number of cars being wraped white, and/or ridiculous 22" alloys I think that the really nice examples in the best colour (black!) that have not been modified and have low miles will actually hold that 30k-35k value or certainly not lose more than a few k, and that is with some discount on list price being factored in.

These wonderful cars are in some cases eight years of age. They are in that critical stage where they drift into the hands of enthusiasts and are well cared for or are purchased by those who are tempted by the screen price but not the servicing costs.

Hence there are some quite poor exemples about The difference in value between the former and the latter is huge.

The old adage of `Buyer beware` is never truer. Another one for you: `You`re never in trouble with a nice car you`re never out of trouble with a bad one.

Apart from the usual things that drive you mad: High Level rear brake light ( Surely they have all been replaced by now). Water in the passenger foot well.( Believe me; its not a matter of if; but when) and the tyre pressure monitoring systym. ( I just give up). These apart these cars are fabulous.

Do your homework boys and have fun.

For some reason, I just can't pull my finger out and get over the line with a Conti GT. Have made many a hasty decision in the past across the spectrum of cars incl many AMs and Porsches. I've been on the verge of a (used) Conti GT for about 6 months now and need a kick up the backside to actually buy one.

Was expecting a glut on the market over the winter period but never really materialised. The ADs rarely offload them via autotrade mail (the Cardiff one to one side right now).

Looking for a well-loved, low-ish mileage, blk/cream Mulliner or Speed, prob 08MY, preferably with manufacturer warranty.

Note to self - stop talking and just go and get it!

A good indy who sells and in my view services them will see loads of cars and then cherry pick a good ones.
Your then looking at a smaller number of cars and grab a good one.

I took the plunge and bought an 04 a few months back. It's an amazing car and drives like new. It needs the brake light fixing and the tyre sensors playing up as well but apart from that I'm delighted with it.

At least your high level brake light wont need replacing again as it seems like they've finally got it sorted.
