I have recently bought a Hartge Cooper S, I wish to sharpen up the standard brakes so new lines/fluid and front pads are the first stop, what pads do people find give a better bite than the average?

Thanks in advance.

I've got an R56 Cooper S with a few mods for occasional track use including uprated tyres/suspension - I'm now using DS2500 front pads and a DOT4 brake fluid which seems to do the job. I'll admit I only do about 20 minutes on track each time I head out although just changing the front pads made a big difference & I've not suffered the brake fade I witnessed before, even though my driving technique has improved & with it more speed on the track.

If you're after some good advice from a specialist, give Lohen a call as they stock most forms of uprated pads worth buying.

Assuming it's an R53, if it's got the standard brakes then upgrade to the R56S setup - so much better IMO. As above, DS2500 pads seem to be the ones to pick - I've just put them in my JCW Brembos, initial impressions are good. EBC Yellowstuff not bad as well
