Hi All,
I have a 2012 JCW tuned to around 390nm and 280 BHP. Had to upgrade the clutch for something that can take the upgraded power. Went for the helix 6 paddle clutch kit with single mass flywheel. Problem is that im getting a lot of noise when pulling off from a standstill. Major issue when in traffic... Has anyone else had this issue??

Does it make a noise when stationary with the clutch open?
Could the friction plate have been installed the wrong way round?

Sorry for the late response. I dont have any noise at idle, only when i set off and the clutch is engaging, also if when your driving and you dont rev matc and let the revs drop then bring up the clutch you get the noise again...
It sounds like clutch doesnt like the SMF.

I have Helix 6 Paddle with DMF

It's silent pretty much

Your issue will be the SMF. I am changing to an SMF kit and expect some rattles and noises.
The springs in a DMF and the fact it has 2 parts that move effectively absorb the noise.

Turn the radio up or look at getting a DMF instead. You may need a different cover but they should be interchangeable.

If you have converted to a single mass flywheel, it should be mated with a sprung friction plate, is yours?

Im not sure. Lohen did the work, but they are having the same noise issue on their project car too. Also read this http://www.minitorque.com/forum/f847/helix-6-paddl... which may mean its a common issue. VERY loud noise.
At the moment Lohen dont have any alternative, what i dont understand is why other people are having no issues with the clutch...
Is it down to fitting? no idea? Lohen seem like a good outfit so cant see why there would be an issue there.
