I was hoping the facelifted F56 would debut at the IAA, but I can't see any mention of it in this MF article. I guess the LCI could be shown, but the headline will be the MINI E?

The GP concept previewed last night probably shows a few bits that might make it to the LCI car - http://www.motoringfile.com/2017/09/05/world-premi...

My guesses;
  • LED Headlights with full Halo ring and redesigned projector
  • TFT instrument cluster in front of the driver
  • Steering wheel maybe a dealer fit JCW upgrade?

They'll be an option for sure, they're appearing all over the place.

Probably a MINI Yours option, like the UJ soft top on the convertible.

I love the look of this. Hope it looks similar in production.

Wonder about the gearbox though. Will it be the sport auto or a revised ZF job?

Otherwise looks spot on to me.

A DCT (twin clutch) gearbox manufactured by Getrag.

So, the Frankfurt show has been and gone, and apart from the GP teaser there didn't appear to be any news on the LCI cars.

Or was there?

The cars are running round pretty much undisguised now.

Good news is they don't look all that different. Minor bumper tweaks front and rear, new headlights at the front (which were on the GP concept), and the UJ tail lights, which will be an option - can't imagine they'll go down well in all markets!

Makes it clear that the big news will be in the tech....

Big enough then; although I see the arches still have the little lip.

Yup, it will need the lip for the 18" wheels, as they stick out a bit further.

I have 17" wheels on my 2017 Cooper S and I think they look tiny, but I wouldn't want them any bigger because the ride is poor as it is even though they're non run flats, 18" wheels look much better for me but I bet the ride is almost unbearable.

I imagine that the 15/16" wheels with non run flats is the sweet spot in terms of ride/handling.

Really I'm on 18 runflats and they arnt that bad certainly not like I feared with the pro suspension it would be harder still but not that bad

The large wheels and runflat combo are much better now than they used to be.

The first generation runflats like the old Pirelli Euforias they fitted on the 17s were truly dreadful.

I am chuffed mine doesn't have run flats but I did think with it being only on 17" wheels the ride would be a little better to be fair, I'd like to try the 18" wheels with run flats then from what's being said, maybe it's not as bad as I'm imagining then.

Mines running p7 CINTURATO I wouldn't have them again when mpss and mps4 still exist

Am I correct in thinking the 15/16" wheels won't fix over JCW brakes? How about the regular Cooper/Cooper S?
