Went with my sister on Saturday to order her a new LCI F56 S, the lack of information the dealers have been given from MINI UK r.e. the LCI has been shocking, more than one dealer mentioning that they've had many complaints on this.

On the face of it the prices look reasonable given the extra equipment on offer, but what they give with one hand they take with another. Visual BOOST is now standard equipment, but to add MINI Connected you have to tick the Navigation option, £900. Used to be a £300 option including the Visual BOOST, a bit mean IMO.

And the free paint choice has changed, it's now Pepper White instead of Moonwalk Grey.

Also for those asking, the 2.9% is applicable on LCI cars, and there are reasonable discounts available already.

I do have a full LCI price list if anyone is curious.

Shame I just don't think this LCI was quite what I expected, and I've left the MINI fold for the first time in 8 years. There's always another time.

It does seem very odd that the configurator won't work in the UK, despite being available in other countries - and I'm sure it's losing Mini some sales. The content is clearly ready, so I wonder how far the international sites share architecture.

After picking up a 2012 R56 LCI Cooper about 18 months ago, I'm looking for a slightly larger replacement. It's between a used or new LCI 5-door Cooper / S and the new VW Polo GTI. I was briefly excited by the Up GTI, although I don't think it would really be an upgrade over my current R56.

It would really help if I could compare prices and specs online!

I'm on some dedicated MINI forums and yes there seems to have been some turmoil even ordering cars and get spec / price confirmed.

Its interesting they are including LED lights as standard - thats a MINI UK enforced thing. The German site shows them still as optional extras.

As you say good that visual boost is now standard - it was a "must tick" box as far as the dealer was concerned.

Sat Nav looked fairly naff value at £595 previously - not sure grouping it with MINI Connected and upping the price will help that.

Had i went for a non Seven car, i''d have been happy enough with Moonwalk Grey. I think its a nice colour. I'd change away from Pepper White though if i was ordering an LCI car. Just my personal choice though.

It does seem like they've rejigged things to extra more money out of people, rather than to add better value or make their packs more sensible.

Can you spec it without the Union Jack rear lights?

Nope.

They are mandatory.

I give it 6 months before they offer "normal" rear lights as a NCO

Like others, I cannot believe that the Mini configurator is down and seemingly has been for nigh on a month.

I love that new 2018 Emerald Grey colour (or the wife does) ...

Looking forward to it coming online again and speccing on up to see the cost ...

The german configurator is up on www.mini.de (and has been for around 2 weeks) - it at least lets you play around with options and colour combinations whilst we await the UK configurator

You can look at the interior/wheels/colours on the UK configurator, but when you choose a model it just seems to stop and won't go any further.

I can't believe how they can let it go on like this for so long, and it just shows how much money they make...and they're still happy to lose potential sales while it's down.

I've had a couple of 'online chats' with different dealers local to me and they gloss over this fact, that it's down, when I mention it - but 'I can go in and they'll assist me to spec one' ... they'd love that ...

Mad.

UK site is up, but not via a direct link.

I've worked out the URL. You can access it here...

This is the one for the Cooper S

https://www.mini.co.uk/en_GB/home/mini-configurato...

Some models dont work yet, but the Cooper also works as does the MINI One.

The JCW link doesnt yet work.

The change model link doesn't work from that Cooper S link - have you a link to the normal Cooper please?

I wish that starlight blue colour had been available on the pre lci, I'd have gone for that instead of Midnight black.

I might be being daft but your Cooper link throws up some car that is already configurated - the orange one - and I don't seem to be able to make any changes to it. ie edit the colour, or the packs etc. The price shown is £21k+ and I can't remove the options chosen unless you can show me how.

And if I hit Change model, it takes me here -

https://www.mini.co.uk/en_GB/home/range/mini-5-doo...

Is there any way you can get me to the start of the configuration process for a 5-door Cooper model - doesn't matter about the D variant atm ...

Weird! In Safari the link doesn't work (change model) - whereas in Chrome it does (I think)!
