Rally preparation.

I have a mk1 that I'm wanting to do some historic navigation events, and possibly in the future stage events. The car is a bog standard 850, which I plan to build a 1293cc for. I'm looking for inspiration as to specs of car. Everything from interiors, outside, engine, suspension, brakes etc. I already have the 7.5 S brakes fitted so they will stay with some decent pads, it's running dry suspension so adjustables and hi-los will be fitted also.
Any help, pics, etc will be great.

There used to be a book available called 'The works Minis' by Peter Browning which gave a good description of rally preparation. IIRC

David Vizard wrote a cracking good book on prepping Minis for competition. I used it when I did mine back in the day, lots of great advice. I must still have it somewhere - I'll see if I can find it.
