Hi all, I'm around two months into JCW ownership (bought brand new) and over the last 2-3 weeks I've noticed a dramatic difference in the nature of the exhaust sounds, coupled with little to none of obligatory pops and bangs.

Even on delivery day the JCW sounded, for a stock vehicle, rather nice. It was never difficult either to get plenty of pops and bangs once it was warmed up.

All of this was on regular fuel and not V-Power etc. However, the exhaust is now much, much quieter and I really struggle to get anything approaching pops and bangs from it.

The first thing I do is toggle the Sport button as soon as I start the engine and I've resorted to using V-Power to try and get it all back again but I can't for the life of me figure out why it would suddenly change?

It was so much part and and parcel of the overall JCW experience that I find that I'm just not enjoying driving it quite as much now.

Can anyone please shed any light on what might be going on?

The only difference is the ambient temp which was obviously a lot hotter than usual for the UK.

I Know the pro exhaust is different but it doesn't really do much that I notice unless it's in sport and in the open position. I did drive it once with standard Exhaust on it and it was very quiet imho.

Also the mini is really quite well Sound deadened and the exhaust will get quieter as it builds up carbon deposits

I always thought that an exhaust would get louder the more carbon build up there was.

A Remus blue tooth valve jobby might the only option I guess.

This is still driving me nuts - it's completely random as to how loud it will be on every drive.

Sorry to hear you are having this sound issue, something seems odd with this.

When you switch to Sport mode, does the dash display that you are indeed in Sport?

Does the exhaust tone at idle change in any way when you switch to Sport? My F54 clubman gets slightly deeper.

Can you get the pops and bangs when just revving the car? It should still do it when not under load.
